Natalie stirred from her half-asleep state that morning, her senses still dulled by drowsiness. Feeling her nose running, she mumbled for a tissue without even opening her eyes. However, the sound of a thud jolted her awake, and she quickly glanced around to see her husband, who had just fallen from their bed, looking flustered. He hastily grabbed the shirt he wore the night before and pressed it to her nose, his hands trembling like leaves in the wind.
"Alonso, what's happening?" she asked, her voice still groggy with sleep.
"Shh, don't panic," he replied, himself half in a panic.
Her heart skipped a beat at the sight of blood trickling from her nose. Despite her own fear, she tried to soothe her husband, reaching out to touch his trembling hand.
"It's okay, Alonso, don't be scared, it'll stop soon...I'm not even dizzy."
"P-Press this to your nose while I get dressed. We're going to the hospital right away."
