Alonso's entrance through the gate was a noisy one with how much he honked the horns of the Audi.
"Are you trying to make your father even angrier?" She laughed and playfully hit him on the shoulder.
"That ship has sailed, baby girl. The president can't possibly become angrier than he already is with his only son."
He was the only one to laugh at that joke. But even Alonso's soaring spirits seemed to come back to earth when he finally parked the Audi at the front door of the Valois family mansion.
She unfastened her seatbelt and grabbed his hand with both of hers.
"Please, don't leave me alone. I mean it, don't let go of my hand no matter what."
He patted her hands with his other one.
"I won't leave your hand, but I have a better idea. How about we get my umbrella from the trunk of the car? We can open it once we're inside to shield you from his glares."
She rolled her eyes at him but ended up laughing nonetheless.
