60% Mated with my brother / Chapter 9: Meeting her brothers

Capítulo 9: Meeting her brothers

As bad as it may seem. Jolien didn't seem to care. She had teleported right to the exact spot she wanted. Not everyone in the Palace were demons so she had to be very cautious whenever she was wielding her powers that she saw as a curse.

Her father's eyes widened when he saw her but he pretended like nothing happened.  He's the only one that could cover up her tracks but her mum was there in no time.

"You…" her mum charged, eyeing her with some kind of vicious glint.

"Why did you break the rules?... what's the rule we made about teleporting in the Palace?" She asked, taking long strides towards her.

Luckily there was no human around. Jolien kicked an invisible dust off her feet, pressing her lips to a smile as she gave her father a sign.

"Leave my sweetheart alone… this is her only time to use her gift" King Julius said.

Mrs Irene looked from her daughter to her husband.

"No wonder she gets away with everything, you are too lenient with her" she complained.

Jolien heard the sound of chariots approaching and her eyes perked up.

'They are here' she thought. Her eyes glowed like there were stars in them.

It has been years since she last saw her brothers so she might as well run into their arms.

She felt a hand on her shoulders, she turned to see her mother's face as though she knew her thoughts, the woman whispered,

"Behave" Jolien rolled her eyes but she could only listen to her mother's words.

They were standing at the gate of the huge throne room and they could see everyone that came to the Palace and so they could see the chariots that were approaching.

Jolien couldn't stand still and her mother wasn't planning on letting her shoulder go. Her mother was always about behaving and being a princess but Jolien was far from that.

She tried to behave like a princess but it didn't suit her.

Soon her brother's carriage was so close.

'When would they get down?'

It was like a welcome service and so it would take so much time but once the carriage stopped and the footmen opened the carriage door. She got to finally see her brothers.

They were just some feet away from her.

She turned to her mother who had a beam on her face. Well this is her chance.

"I can meet them now right?" She asked.

Mrs Irene seemed to have lost her tongue, but she gave a quick nod and Jolien was running to meet her brothers.

'No teleporting'

The closer she got the more she realised how short she had become, not like she was ever taller than them.

They spread their arms and she ran into their embrace.

"Justin… George"

She almost teared up. She felt the warmth of their bodies. At least there were two more people to stop her mother from marrying her off.

"Jolien"

"Our baby has grown up," George said as soon as they parted.

'What the… did they still think of me as a child?'

She has so many badges in the war field and she's no child.

She scowled.

"Seems like you haven't changed" she sneered.

"Where's Zay?" She asked, looking for the sight of someone that she would be taller than.

"He came with us but he's not here, maybe somewhere in the palace," Justin said.

"And you haven't changed either" she looked at the royal robes that they were wearing and a thought crossed her mind.

"The present?" She asked and they looked at each other.

"The present you promised to give me as soon as you return," she reminded me.

"You should let them come I'm first Jolien" Mrs Irene said, she was walking over to them in her queen mode, the elegant steps stuff.

But Jolien didn't care about that.

"You will get the present under one condition"

'Condition?... that's not what we agreed on' Jolien wanted to say but she kept mute. She didn't like anything that had a condition to it.

"What is it?" She asked, squinting like she was ready for the worse.

"First, your gift is half of the kingdom"

"What?!"

"And you will only get it after you are married"

Her eyes widened. It was like her brain was going to explode at any moment from now.

'What a bombshell'

Now she knows that everyone wants her to get married.

"What if I don't?" She asked, looking up to their shocked expressions.

"Then you won't get the gift," Justin said. Jolien sipped the air. Turning to her mother who had the brightest smile at the moment she said,

"I will be in my room"

Before they could say another word. She was gone. She broke the rule again and teleported to another part of the Palace that's not her room, a kind of structure that was made for anyone to see the view of the West Side of the Palace. She always came here for some alone time.

She tried her best not to have an outburst of emotions but they were creeping in by the second.  Her eyes were getting watery. She vowed not to cry but here she was in her own tears, the walls she built were shattered.

She wanted to be like other princesses. She craved it like the very thing she loves, but it can't just be her. Her life was set at a different pace and everyone wants her to marry a human or just get married.

She cleaned her eyes as soon as she heard footsteps.

'Who could be at this part of the palace by this time?'

She thought of hiding but why would the Princess hide. The footsteps got closer till someone emerged.

Jolien raised a brow at the figure, a guy, clad in simple clothes but gave off the aura of superiority, black wavy hair and a body that she didn't dare to look at.

It wouldn't move her after all.

The man walked to her, he was way taller than she was and she put a distance between them not to appear too short.

'Why do I feel like I am reduced in height?'

He pressed his lips in a thin line.

"Sorry, I seem to have lost my way" he started.

'As usual'

"I guess you would, cause I have seen you in the Palace before"

He smiled,

"If you are doubting that I'm royalty then I will tell you that I'm one of them"

"Ok?"

He extended his hand,

"I'm Zay" he said with a look that Jolien found unsettling. But what did he say his name was again?.

"What?" She asked, raising her brows.

"I'm Zay," he repeated.

'Zay?... As in Zaylee?'

She extended her hands as well but smacked his hand off.

"What was that for?" He asked, a look of scrutiny on his face.

"Zay… I'm your sister Joe" she said and he stared at her for a while before the words registered and he moved to hug her but she pushed him away.

"Don't hug me… you will only make me look short"
