Yu Yan just sighed knowing it was her friend's choice and the choice was clear in her eyes even if her friend hadn't realized it yet.
She wanted to be with him and there was nothing she could do to stop that. But for some reason it felt like her friend was walking into a wolf's den. Hopefully, she'd come out unscathed.
Despite her meek appearance Ying Yue had always been stubborn and hell-bent on getting what she wanted that was why she always had to watch out for her. In the end, they became good friends and ended up spending the rest of their day on the couch stuffing their faces and watching anime.
The next day was off to a hectic start for Ying Yue as she had a nightmare that almost scared her to death but for some reason, she couldn't remember it and could only see fragments.
She seemed to have been having nightmares a lot lately, what the hell was wrong with her? She sighed and gulped a glass of water, she was becoming more nervous about the future ahead. It would be wishful thinking to say everything would be alright when she could sense it wouldn't be.
She got dressed and went to work, she would have asked Yu Yan to tag along but the girl had a prior arrangement so she had to go alone. She was happy to see everything going smoothly in her absence, she continued to direct the workers and was surprised and she saw her dream slowly coming to life.
She smiled at this, her heart full of glee. If only she could share this moment with her Mom she would be so proud of her, maybe Feng was right and she was looking down at her and watching her build an empire from scratch full of bliss in her heart.
She walked outside the restaurant to pick up some of the materials needed when she bumped into someone, she quickly apologized but she stopped when she realized who the person was, it was the guy from her nightmare.
She immediately went after him as he had started taking quick steps and looked at her mockingly as if saying catch me if you can, which meant he had to be the one right? He led her to the same alley that from that night, she thought of going back but her curiosity got the best of her and she followed him. He stopped at a position and leaned on the wall, naive as ever.
"Why did you follow me?" He said feigning ignorance, he smirked at her letting her know he knew the reason she was here.
"Do you know me?" She said walking gingerly towards him to see his reaction but he just kept smiling eerily.
"Yes and no. Yes because I knew you and no because you eventually made me question if I even knew you at all, it's nice to see you again Li Jing", he said smugly and a hint of shock passed through her eyes for a split second but Lui Shui didn't notice it.
"My name is Ying Yue", she said firmly confused about why everyone around her was mistaking her for someone else, even Lui Feng called her that, she wondered what was going on but she was literally clueless.
"Stay away from Lui Feng if you want to continue to live your normal and happy life", he said confusing her more, despite the fact that he despised his brother he didn't want anything bad to happen to him.
If he wanted him gone he'd do it himself, from the start Feng and Jing's love was destined to have a tragic ending but they were so naive still staying together, thinking love could conquer all, when she didn't answer due to her being lost in thoughts he walked away.
She walked towards the store to get the materials for the restaurant but her thoughts were far away. She walked in and saw a strange-looking woman who sold the materials to her.
"Stop worrying dear things will only get better if you're determined", she said and Ying nodded not paying much attention to it, only when she was outside the store did she remember the woman. She was a fortune teller who told Li Jing about who she really was running back in hopes of getting answers the woman was gone, she pursed her lips and walked away disappointed.
She got home at about four o'clock and got changed. She felt irritated with the fact that she didn't understand anything, she felt like her life would soon spiral out of her control and she wouldn't be able to comprehend it.
Feng was hiding something from her and she didn't like it one bit but she couldn't ask him, even though they were getting closer, there was still a gap between them a wall she could never break.
Besides she should just focus on convincing everyone she was his fiancée until they had to drop the act, she bit her bottom lip and stared out the window lost in thoughts for a while when she felt a pair of arms wrap around her and she gasped and tried to turn around.
"Don't say anything let's just stay like this for a while", he said and buried his face in the crook of her neck and she blushed hard, it was Lui Feng.
"Feng..." She said softly and he hummed in reply not wanting her to end the moment. "Can you let go now?" she asked and he groaned and finally released her, she pursed her lips but she couldn't help it.
"Feng, are you hiding something from me?" she suddenly asked and Lui Feng's eyes narrowed wondering if Lui Shui had told her, he wouldn't dare. He knew the complications and she didn't look afraid of him one bit, but nothing could be determined when it came to her.
"I wouldn't take it as I'm hiding it, but seems you haven't noticed yet", he replied and her curiosity piqued but he just stared at her.
"What is it?" she asked and he chuckled making her frown, was he toying with her again?
"I'm pursuing you", he said and her eyes widened in shock.
"W-what?!"
