(Hinata's Age 6 Years, 8 months)
Two days before Hoshi was on to take his test to enter the Academy, Hinata was called in to see her father. Her father had seemed a bit odd for the last week, and she had a general idea of what was going on in the background.
Barbatos, the god of freedom and of the wind, had selected her to be his representative, his Herald and High Priestess, and had conceived a plan to help her escape from her destiny within the clan. She had heeded his wisdom and hidden her true skill from everyone, even allowing her sister Hanabi to defeat her in a battle two days ago.
She knew that the other Hyuuga elders were likely pressuring her father to name Hanabi his heiress and she was fine with that. Barbatos said that even if they were to name Hanabi the heiress, they probably wouldn't dare to give her the branch families cursed seal, but even if they did, Mythra could remove it, though it might take a little while since she was still learning to control that power and they'd have to approach the seal delicately.
Hinata trusted him, and knew that if her father acted in that manner, he would free her from that seal, so that his future high priestess would not be restrained. Even though he'd told her long ago that he was secretly her age and had secretly inherited the legacy, power and name of Barbatos from birth, she still trusted him as her deity. It did not matter that he was born of humans as she was, since his power was definitely that of a god. HER god!
He did not have to tell her the truth about himself, after all, and yet he trusted her and had faith in her. She understood that while she was tied to the destiny of the Hyuuga, that he couldn't show her his true self, but she didn't mind waiting, since she knew he would show her eventually.
Even if he wasn't a god, she had decided that she would still have followed him, believing him to be most precious to her. He'd taught her what it meant to be a proper leader and how very wrong her families traditions were, and she knew that they'd deal with that eventually.
Venti was a god of freedom, and the branch family were basically slaves, so the current situation was most offensive to him. There would definitely be a reckoning in due time between her beloved deity and her clan, but she already decided to be on his side against the clan when that happened.
Why would she choose her clan when they judged her so harshly for her apparent weakness? That wasn't how family should behave, and that wasn't how a ruler should behave.
Arriving at the reception room where she expected to meet her father, though, Hinata was surprised to find all of the Hyuuga elders there and her father absent
"What the hell are you doing to Hanabi!" Hinata called out, having entered as the Elders were holding down her sister and were applying the Caged Bird seal to her!
"Hinata! Run! They locked up father!" Hanabi called out a warning.
Hinata, though, served the god of freedom, and was not going to watch as her kid sister was enslaved!
"Venti, god of the wind, bestow upon me your grace!" Hinata called out loud before tapping into the wind power she'd received from Venti and using Anemo ether. She did not have to announce the power to use it, but rather chose to do so to remind herself to always appreciate his incredible gift to her.
The ability she chose to use, since she didn't want to kill anyone, was using the wind to instantly suck all of the air out of the elders lungs, which temporarily stunned them, and knocked out a couple of them as well, then she scooped up Hanabi with the wind and yanked her sister over to her and helped her sister up "Run Hanabi. Report to the Hokage that the Elders staged a coup.
"S...stay safe" Hanabi told Hinata before she started taking off, only to fall after a few steps, screaming in pain. It appeared that they had gotten the caged bird seal fully placed at the last possible moment, and now one of the elders was using it to torture her sister!
Hinata swiftly identified the perpetrator and unleashed an invisible wind blade that decapitated the man with her ether.
Hanabi, though, appeared to be knocked out after the torture ended, and Hinata could only fight the elders to protect her sister.
Hinata fought the other elders, trying to knock them all out, not using lethal force as long as they left her sister alone, since she still felt a bit ill about the man she already had to kill, and she'd feel even worse once the adrenaline wore down. Unfortunately, Hinata was outnumbered, and in spite of a cheat like her anemo powers, she couldn't beat all of them, and soon found herself held down with them intending to murder her!
Fortunately, Anbu arrived and they could no longer kill her. They did, however, brand her with the caged bird slave seal and banished her from the clan. Even though Hinata was still the recognized heiress and blatantly shouted that they staged a coup de tat against the patriarch, these rather emotionless Anbu claimed that they could not get involved in clan matters.
At the very least the elders did not kill her since the Anbu, who she guessed belonged to Root, were present, and Hinata was dragged out without her sister, with nothing but the clothes on her back.
While Hinata had always expected to lose the position of heiress, she never expected to have it go like this.
She had just seen Venti the previous evening, so she wasn't expecting him to come look for her for a few days, so she wondered what she was supposed to do until he came to her? Where was she supposed to sleep? She had no money, no changes of clothes, and no equipment.
She had matured a lot under Venti's guidance, but she was still not even seven years old yet. She hid her fear well as she was wandering Konoha, wondering how she'd get by for a few days, but apparently she didn't hide it well enough.
Hinata wasn't certain how long she had been walking before a blond boy about her age appeared in front of her, looking rather beaten up as well What happened to you?" Hinata asked him with concern.
------
For two days, Hinata stayed with Naruto. They had spoken for a while, and eventually the fact that she had nowhere to go came up, and he agreed to let her stay with him until she could see Venti again.
Naruto was quite appreciative towards Venti for spending a couple hours with him every few days and treating him kindly, so hearing that Hinata was also close to him only made the invitation more obvious to him.
The apartment where Naruto stayed was small, but at least it was tidy, thanks in large part to Hoshi insisting that he developed the habit of keeping the place tidy from a young age.
Hinata had to endure the caged bird seal until she could see Venti again, since she knew that Mythra could remove it for her, even if it would take time for her to do it since she hadn't awakened her fell power yet.
Two days later, Hinata and Naruto had sat down to eat dinner, which Hinata had prepared, when they heard a knock at the door.
"I'll see who it is" Hinata answered and jogged towards the door and opened it, only to find Venti and Mythra on the other side of the door!
Excitedly, Hinata jumped at Venti and hugged him, which Venti in turn reciprocated, while seeming surprised to find her here.
"I need you to tell me what happened." Venti had spotted the caged bird seal on her forehead and was furious, but he was trying to control his rage until he heard her out at least. Hinata knew that he was going to be angry at her clan and not at her, so Hinata wasn't afraid at all, and remained peaceful as they hugged each other.
"Come inside" Hinata suggested to him, and then released Venti from the hug and grabbed his hand to pull him inside.
"It looks like they were about to eat" Mythra noticed once they were all inside and she closed the door behind them "I recommend that we let them finish their meal, then I'll start removing the caged bird seal. She can explain the situation while I am going that."
Hinata knew that since Mythra's ability hadn't fully matured, it would take her three to four hours to remove the caged bird seal, so eating first did seem prudent too her. She was certain, though, that she sure didn't want to be the Hyuuga elders after she had finished telling Venti what happened.
