Lester, unable to contain himself, unleashed a dart at the masked man's face with full force. Simultaneously, Green Devil clad in armor, Dr. Octopus with his four mechanical arms, and Scorpion King with his scorpion tail, all lunged at the masked man. Birds of a feather flock together, and these three, accustomed to Kinbire and Lester's company, were naturally arrogant. Moreover, to demonstrate loyalty to Kinbire, they were now attacking with full force, just like Lester.
This time, Kinbire didn't intervene. As the kingpin of New York and even the entire United States underworld, Kinbire had his temper. He had spoken politely, yet this mysteriously appearing masked man had been so audacious and disrespectful. So, he allowed Lester and the others to teach him a lesson.
As the four top henchmen advanced towards the masked man, he showed no intention of evading their attacks. Was he blind? No, it wasn't that he couldn't see the attacks, but rather he treated their assaults as if they were nothing.
"Do we not even have the right to harm you?!" Thought crossed their minds as they increased the force of their attacks, seemingly exerting all their energy. Scorpion King, Green Devil, and Dr. Octopus were doing their best, while Lester, gritting his teeth, pulled out a second dart and swiftly launched it.
At this moment, the masked man finally spoke. He ceased his laughter, raised a hand to his mask, and said, "How ignorant."
Swoosh! Bang! The building shook, fire alarms blared, and smoke filled the top-floor office. Kinbire furrowed his brows and pressed a button beside his desk.
Huffing and puffing, the windows opened, dispersing the smoke, revealing the situation to everyone. The four top henchmen, living up to their reputation as supervillains, had actually managed to crack the walls of Kinbire's specially reinforced office, exposing the steel beneath. However, Kinbire wasn't pleased at all because the current situation was just too bizarre!
All the attacks from the four supervillains had passed through the masked man's body, striking the wall behind him instead. "Is this... a projection technique?!" Kinbire's eyes lit up at the possibility of mastering such a skill for his own safety.
However, before he could receive an answer, the masked man stood up. He passed through the bodies of the four henchmen, then turned back, and began to gesture openly. "What's this?" the four supervillains wondered. They had heard Kinbire's words and knew this was a projection technique, rendering them unable to strike. So, despite sensing danger, they made no move to evade.
Seeing this, the masked man, his mouth shrouded by the mask, smiled faintly. "You fools, strive to survive!"
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"
Boom! The fireball, too fast to dodge, engulfed them, and they could only shield their faces with their hands. In an instant, the glass of the top-floor office shattered, and the huge fireball carried the four supervillains out of the window.
Bang! The fireball exploded in mid-air like a magnificent firework. The four supervillains were dazed by the blast, plummeting straight down.
However, in mid-air, they regained their senses. Although the fireball was powerful, it hadn't reached lethal force, as the masked man had held back. These scum could die, but not yet—they still had some use.
As for pushing them off the building, it was, of course, to test their abilities. Weaklings were trash and unworthy of life.
Bang! Dr. Octopus's mechanical arms embedded into the wall, slowing his fall, allowing him to survive. Green Devil summoned his flying skateboard, hovering in mid-air. Scorpion King, using his metal tail and limbs, mimicked Dr. Octopus's maneuver and clung to the wall.
Only Lester continued to fall straight down. In a life-or-death situation, he pulled out a dart with a chain attached and aimed it at Dr. Octopus.
Swoosh! The dart, skillfully manipulated, entangled one of Dr. Octopus's mechanical arms, allowing Lester to survive.
They all survived, but the faces of the four villains were grim. With just one move, their opponent had defeated all four of them and nearly killed them. Though taken by surprise, their failure to defend against the attack was their own fault.
Suddenly, they all began to worry. After this debacle, would Kinbire continue to employ them?
