Just as he was preparing to enter the [Divine Realm] to share in the joy of victory, a familiar voice echoed in his mind:
[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for successfully completing the hidden side quest. You have earned a chance for a random skill draw.]
"Based on your performance, you can obtain an SS-level skill at random."
"Would you like to draw now?"
"Hold on, System, open the skill panel first."
This time, Zane didn't rush to draw; he wanted to take a look at the skills he had already acquired.
Immediately, a shimmering display appeared in Zane's mind.
Name: Zane Sy
Age: 27
Race: Deity (God of Death)
Active Skills:
S-level [King's Treasury]
S-level [Mangekyo Sharingan]
A-level [Son of Light]
A-level [Devil Fruit: Glint-Glint Fruit]
A-level [God's Absence]
A-level [Flash]
B-level [Rat Talisman]
B-level [Thousand Faces]
C-level [Eyebrow Dance]
Passive Skills:
SSS-level [Mana Furnace]
SS-level [Mystic Eyes of Death Perception]
SS-level [Dath River] (Remaining resurrection attempts: 69.3 billion, no time limit)
SS-level [Divine Realm]
A-level [Eternal Arms Mastery]
C-level [Culinary Master]
Draw Chances: 1
"Still, there aren't enough active offensive skills above S-level. Now, the A-level [Flash] isn't quite suited for high-dimensional combat; it's more of a space-time transportation support skill."
"Hopefully, this SS-level skill draw will give me an offensive skill."
… … …
With that thought, Zane gritted his teeth, determined to go forward with this SS-level skill draw.
At that moment, a small golden light suddenly emerged from the silent void, quickly ascending into the sky.
"Huh? A golden [Judgment Book]? So it's been hiding here all along."
With a single glance, Zane recognized what the light was.
Though he wasn't sure why the [Judgment Book] had managed to evade so many instances of temporal annihilation.
Swish!
The golden [Judgment Book] transformed into a small light and instantly flew off into the distance.
Just as Zane was about to transform into light using the [Glint-Glint Fruit] to pursue the [Judgment Book], another faint fluctuation appeared in the void.
It seemed that the other side also noticed Zane's attention, and both sides hesitated briefly, missing the best chance to pursue the [Judgment Book].
The light vanished without a trace.
"Is someone else here? And they were able to avoid so many space-time attacks. I wonder when they arrived?"
Swish!
Zane swiftly fired a beam of energy toward the space where the fluctuation had occurred.
"Come out, you sneaky observer hiding there!"
Zzzzz!!!
Zane's energy attack hit as if striking an iron wall, having no effect on that part of space.
"Mr. Zane Sy, we mean you no harm…"
"Honored Earth deity, Mr. Zane Sy, we mean you no harm."
"Please believe us."
A loud voice resonated.
Then, a screen of light tore open at the source of the sound, revealing a group of bald-headed figures with large, gleaming heads and short, stubby bodies cloaked in gray-green capes beneath them.
Their oversized heads were so eye-catching that it was difficult to notice anything else. The figure standing at the front gazed sincerely down at Zane, a gleaming, shifting badge pinned to his cloak.
"Watchers?"
With one look at the bald heads, Zane recognized their identity.
The Watchers, a race as ancient as the Celestials, had emerged in the main Marvel Universe at roughly the same time, possessing technology advanced by billions of years compared to other cosmic beings.
In the original story, the Watchers initially believed their knowledge and power should benefit the entire Marvel Universe. This belief led them to help other civilizations advance and evolve.
Then they visited Planet Prosilican, aiding its newly emerging species in their evolution and development.
But the Prosilicans, corrupted by their advanced technology, ultimately destroyed their own world.
After this, the Watchers vowed never again to intervene in the affairs of any life form in the universe, instead choosing to bear witness as impartial observers—this promise became a guiding principle they held for life.
Now, Zane knew that the Watchers' non-intervention policy had less to do with what happened on Prosilican and more with a massive conflict they had with the Celestials in ancient times.
Recalling this information about the Watchers, Zane looked at the badge on the lead Watcher's chest and murmured:
"So, that badge is the Watcher's Emblem? No wonder it could block my attack."
Although Zane hadn't absorbed much energy from his recent battle with the dormant Celestial, it had still allowed him to firmly establish himself at the high seventh-dimensional level.
So even though he had casually struck at the Watchers' hidden location, it was remarkable that a group with no one above mid-seventh-dimensional power could deflect the attack unscathed.
With the Watcher's Emblem, however, it made sense.
Now, Zane had a clearer grasp of high-dimensional power within the Marvel Universe. He assessed that this Watcher's Emblem must be at least a mid-eighth-dimensional cosmic artifact, as it had allowed the Watchers to stay hidden even amid his intense fight with the Celestials.
After all, among the devastating powers nearly erasing the entire seventh-dimensional space-time, even a faint trace of them had almost vanished.
Seeing the disheveled, slightly battered appearance of the bald-headed Watchers behind the light screen, Zane felt a slight sense of satisfaction.
Apparently, even with the protection of the Watcher's Emblem, this group of Watchers hadn't entirely escaped the residual impact of the battlefield.
Still, it was clear that these bald-headed fellows had considerable strength; otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to hold their ground against the Celestials for so many years in the Marvel Universe.
Just then, the lead Watcher with the Emblem reached into a pocket on his cloak, pulling out a small item and tossing it into the air.
In an instant, it transformed into an interstellar ship even larger than Zane's own mechanical planet, resembling an Earth telescope with dual lenses.
A beam of light shot out from the massive ship, striking the empty space beside the Watcher.
The lead Watcher with the Emblem looked at Zane and spoke sincerely:
