Arthur raced through the corridors, his movements blinking faster than a flickering lightbulb.
This time, knowing Peter's location, he moved even faster than before. Within three minutes, Arthur had reached the previous passage.
Upon stopping, he saw numerous Kree corpses floating around him, their bodies swollen and their limbs stiff!
"Vacuum?"
Arthur realized his body began to float uncontrollably.
A quick scan with The Eye of Horus revealed the situation.
Peter had smashed the final valve, exposing the area to the vacuum of space.
The Kree in the vicinity were effectively dealt with.
Arthur's form flashed and he appeared inside the Spaceship.
Peter was at the console entering data. When he saw Arthur return, his eyes widened as he asked: "Where have you been?"
"Nice job!"
Arthur didn't answer and instead asked, "Can the Spaceship still operate?"
"Barely… It will definitely need major repairs afterward, but that's not the issue. The problem is the Spaceship is stuck here; how do we get it out?"
Arthur thought for a moment and said, "Come with me."
Without hesitation, Peter followed Arthur out of the Spaceship. As they emerged, Arthur simply touched the Spaceship lightly, and it disappeared from sight.
Suddenly, with such a large Spaceship gone, Arthur was almost swept away by the vacuum. Peter quickly grabbed him and asked: "Where's the Spaceship? That big one?"
Arthur pointed and said, "Over there!"
Peter activated his thrusters and, after reaching a more spacious area, Arthur summoned the Spaceship.
Due to the lack of gravity, the Spaceship wasn't stuck in its previous immovable position; it had begun to drift away.
Arthur flashed to the cockpit, started the Spaceship, and made it hover.
Soon, Peter entered through the hatch. After sealing off the external vacuum, he sighed with relief and asked Arthur, "What were you doing just now?"
"I delivered a little gift to their leader!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Arthur activated the thrusters. The ignition was a bit sluggish, but it eventually succeeded, and with a roar, the Spaceship flew out of the Warship.
"They let us go just because you gave them a gift?" Peter asked, feeling surprised as he took the co-pilot seat and noticed that the surrounding Kree fighters had vanished. "What did you give them? If it's something valuable, shouldn't you have sold it?"
"...I gave their leader a knife and three bullets!"
Arthur increased the thrust. With no pursuit from behind, it was clear that the leader's death had demoralized the Kree.
The shock of the event likely caused them to miss their chance!
Arthur let out a deep breath, maxed out the thrusters, and the Spaceship roared as it headed toward the previous coordinates.
Meanwhile, at least a dozen Kree fighters pursued from the Warship.
Arthur handed control of the Spaceship over to Peter and took a deep breath.
The Jump Point was right ahead, and they were about to jump. The Kree soldiers, recovering from the leader's death, wouldn't be able to catch up.
At this point, Arthur removed his mask and showed a slight smile.
"What on earth happened?" Peter asked. "You killed their leader? You were gone for just a few minutes…"
"That's what it means to fight desperately for survival."
Arthur let out a long breath and said, "To put it simply, it was a gamble. I aimed to kill their leader as quickly as possible to demoralize their troops and then break out at the fastest speed. I was betting on whether this ship could still operate and whether their shock over the leader's death would be as great as I anticipated."
"If their leader had been a beautiful girl, what if you couldn't bring yourself to do it?" Peter immediately asked.
At that moment, the Spaceship shook suddenly, and a subtle change in pressure-filled the cabin. Peter's voice became intermittent: "Oh, I forgot to mention… We're about to cross over… through the Jump Point!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a brand-new expanse of space appeared before them.
Before Arthur could respond, the familiar sensation hit again, and Peter had apparently jumped through two Jump Points consecutively!
This was why, once the opponents entered a Jump Point, escaping was almost assured.
You never knew how many Jump Points they had jumped through or which ones they had used…
After the two jumps, the Spaceship finally stabilized. Arthur held his chest and took a deep breath, then asked, "Why wouldn't you be able to do it if the leader was a beautiful girl? And as for the Kree… well, just their skin…"
He didn't finish, but the meaning was clear.
Peter curled his lips: "That's discrimination against an entire species! It's the disdain of Earth people!"
"Fair point."
Arthur thought for a moment and said, "Anyway, for me, it's hard to get any hormonal reaction toward those who are of a different race…"
"You're clearly single by choice," Peter said.
"Why do you say I'm single?" Arthur was momentarily taken aback, and an image of a face flashed through his mind.
"It's simple," Peter said. "You came to the universe all alone and never talked about missing your family. Friends might not be mentioned, but if you had a girlfriend, you'd definitely talk about her."
Arthur wanted to refute but found that Peter's observation seemed quite reasonable.
He waved his hand and said, "Let's not discuss this. This deal is a bust. This guy…"
He extended his hand and the blue-skinned fat guy Jeff was released.
As soon as Jeff saw the light of day, he collapsed onto his knees and began rolling on the ground, saying his legs were too weak to stand. He felt like the whole world was spinning!
Arthur pointed at Jeff and asked, "What should we do with him?"
They couldn't go to the Nova Empire, and the peripheral planets were inevitably caught up in the conflict. Unless they went to Xandar, the transaction couldn't proceed.
And going to Xandar would likely result in them not only failing to make the deal but also ending up as prisoners in the high-security prison there.
After some thought, Arthur decided to retract Jeff: "Forget it. I'll just keep him in storage until I leave. Or you can handle him?"
Poor Jeff, who didn't get a chance to say anything, was put back into the Disassemble Space once again.
Peter was somewhat intrigued but, considering the current situation on Xandar, sighed and said, "We'll deal with it when the time comes."
#### End of Chapter
The Spaceship landed on a neutral planet.
This planet was somewhat chaotic and was a hub of various sorts of cosmic wanderers, raiders, and other chaotic professions.
The reason for stopping here was twofold: the Spaceship was in urgent need of repairs, and Peter needed to sell a steel-titanium core power device he had, which would be easier to find a suitable buyer for in such a place.
The two of them had calculated that the money they had combined wasn't enough to repair the Spaceship.
Only by selling this item could they afford the repairs.
Arthur's knowledge in this area was limited, so he left it to Peter while he prepared to disassemble the haul from their recent activities.
In assessing their gains, aside from the previous items, there was also a stone slab that Arthur had previously wanted to buy but couldn't.
Overall, there were seven purple items:
- Two gene knowledge books
- Two stone slabs
- Thanos's helmet
- A rhomboid pendant
- A two-handed sword from Asgard
The sound of gears grinding filled the air as Arthur first disassembled the stone slab that recorded The Eye of Horus. This was the main attraction.
Arthur had known for a long time that The Eye of Horus had three functions.
He could only currently use the third one… Surveillance!
Besides that, there were the functions of 'Recovery' and 'Courage.' He hoped to gain something useful from this disassembly!
**[Disassemble item successful!]**
**[Mystical Knowledge (The Eye of Horus) *3]**
**[Disassembler Experience +3]**
**[Disassemble item complete. Would you like to extract at once?]**
"Extract!"
Upon choosing, three books instantly appeared in his hands. Without hesitation, Arthur rubbed his hands together, and the three books disappeared into them.
Complex, profound mystical knowledge began to flood his mind. After a moment, he opened his eyes and said, "Recovery!"
Though his expression was calm, he was secretly thrilled: "So, this is what 'Recovery' is like!"
With a thought, Arthur drew a pattern of The Eye of Horus in the air.
Each movement of his fingers created a faint golden glow in the void.
Once the entire pattern was complete, a shimmering golden The Eye of Horus appeared before him, continuously radiating golden light.
With another thought, The Eye of Horus floated in mid-air, its gaze focused on Arthur. The golden light converged on him, and he felt all the damage he had suffered in the recent battle gradually being restored.
The cost, however, was that his internal colorless energy began to deplete more rapidly.
With another thought, Arthur's fingers waved again in the void, and another golden Eye of Horus appeared in the air.
With two of The Eyes of Horus watching him, he noticed that the recovery speed did not increase.
"So, the effectiveness of Recovery doesn't scale with the number of Eyes?"
Arthur pondered, then continued drawing.
Unlike 'Surveillance,' 'Recovery' could exist in multiples. Arthur tested his limits and found that he could have up to five Eyes of Horus in the air simultaneously!
This was not the limit of The Eye of Horus but rather the limit of Arthur's mental capacity to sustain them.
Moreover, having five of The Eyes of Horus simultaneously increased the consumption of colorless energy significantly.
In the lower-level rest cabin of the Spaceship, the golden light filled the space, radiating warmth and comfort.
With a thought, he suddenly released the blue-skinned prison guard, Jeff.
The big fat man suddenly appeared and continued to roll on the ground. His eyes were unfocused, as he was clearly suffering from a severe case of dizziness.
However, as soon as The Eye of Horus gazed at him, his condition began to recover at a remarkably visible rate.
Soon, his dizziness faded, his vision cleared, and his look of astonishment grew even more intense… Did this guy even have such abilities? Or had he gained new skills?
And why did the surroundings of the cabin look different? Wasn't he supposed to be sold? Where were the buyers? What about the basic trust between people?
Arthur looked at him and confirmed his findings.
It was clear that 'Recovery' did not only heal injuries but also alleviated some negative states.
"This is impressive! The control is even more flawless and this is quite useful!"
Arthur exclaimed in admiration, reaching out to pat Jeff.
The blue fat man, nimble as ever, quickly took a step back before speaking: "No, please don't put me back! Just give me a quick death if you must, or let me live, but stop tormenting me!"
Arthur hesitated.
Seeing this, Jeff almost burst into tears: "I'm a respectable prison warden, for heaven's sake! If you're going to sell me, do it quickly. If not, I have other uses. Can you please stop torturing me?"
Arthur waved his hand, retracting all the floating The Eyes of Horus in mid-air, and then asked, "So, what use do you have?"
Jeff fell into thought. Before he could figure it out, his shoulder was patted…
Arthur shook his head. A guy who needed to ponder his own usefulness was clearly more trouble than it was worth to keep around.
The sound of gears grinding started again. This time, Arthur disassembled Thanos's helmet.
This item was second only to The Eye of Horus and made Arthur even more curious.
The disassembly didn't take long, under five minutes.
**[Decomposing equipment succeeded!]**
**[Beginner Steel Bones *3]**
**[Purple Order Battle Soul]**
**[Colorless Small Crystals *37]**
**[Disassembler Experience +5]**
**[Disassemble equipment complete. Would you like to extract at once?]**
"So few Steel Bones!"
Arthur extracted the purple Order Battle Soul and was puzzled. Why did Thanos's helmet, which symbolized chaos and slaughter, disassemble into an Order Battle Soul? What order was this guy about?
The Battle Soul, surrounded by purple light, was held carefully in his hand. He was somewhat concerned he might see a baked purple sweet potato inside.
But he was overthinking it. The item contained no sweet potato, nor could he see Thanos's image, only a swirling mass of purple mist.
Given his previous experience, Arthur wasn't worried about turning 'purple' from using it. He slapped the Battle Soul, and instantly, a powerful force surged through every cell in his body!
"Hmm?"
Arthur's eyes widened: "Why does it feel just like Hulk's Battle Soul?"
His blood flow accelerated, causing pain that was not deep but extremely hard to bear. The sensation traveled from head to toe, covering every inch of his body!
Just as Arthur was about to reach his limit, the pain suddenly vanished!
