Capítulo 17: Chapter 17: Is This Damn a God?
"This question seems to be designed by the question-setter to make us believe that what they have presented to us is the real future," Nick Fury said in a deep voice. "So the difficulty of this question is intentionally simple because its purpose is not to test our ability to answer it but to validate the future for us."
"There's some truth to that," Tony Stark pondered for a moment and agreed with Nick Fury's analysis.
"Stark, I'll let you answer this question!" Nick Fury said. "Although the Arc Reactor can protect your heart from small fragments, it's still a hidden danger. It would be best if we could eliminate it completely."
To be honest, Nick Fury was also tempted by the healing potion. Doesn't it mean that his eye can be healed?
However, as a seasoned veteran agent, he knew that Tony Stark was far more important than him in the upcoming war. That's why he chose to leave the healing potion to Tony Stark.
"Stark, answer the question!" Natasha Romanoff also chimed in. "Your role in the Avengers far surpasses mine."
"Jerk, I won't use the healing potion immediately. I'll try to replicate it first," Tony Stark understood all of this and directly answered, "I choose D, RPG!"
[Answer is incorrect! Deduct one year of lifespan!]
Tony Stark suddenly felt the sensation that Natasha Romanoff described when a part of her was taken away, and his face turned pale.
"Stark, are you okay?" Nick Fury quickly asked.
"If Romanoff is fine, how could I not be?" Tony Stark waved his hand, seeming indifferent. "It's just that I answered incorrectly. RPG is not the answer?"
"Then it must be a submachine gun?" Natasha Romanoff guessed again. "But that's unlikely. Loki's body is bulletproof, and Thor, as his brother, should be able to do the same."
"Maybe it's a barrage of submachine guns," Nick Fury suggested. "Just like when I was attacked by Alexander Pierce."
"That's also unlikely," Tony Stark thought for a moment and said, recalling the scene. "You are a regular person, so being surrounded and attacked by submachine guns means you can only flee. But Thor is a god, at least in terms of physicality, he's comparable to a super soldier or even a stronger god! Loki's scepter can emit energy attacks, and Thor's hammer is definitely not just for show. You know, Thor's hammer is the most powerful weapon in mythology. Even if the real Mjolnir doesn't have the same power as in the myths, it shouldn't be something that a few submachine guns can handle for us humans, right?"
"But you just answered incorrectly. RPG is not the answer," Nick Fury said. "If it's not a submachine gun, could it be a pistol?"
"I can't imagine it. Let's wait and watch the video," Tony Stark shrugged, turned around, and looked at the area where the previous video was playing, no longer speaking.
Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff also remained silent, waiting quietly.
After a while, the space darkened, and the video finally began.
It was nighttime, and a car was driving. Jane Foster was driving the vehicle, Darcy Lewis sat in the passenger seat, and Erik Selvig was sitting in the back.
Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis appeared for the first time in the video, and none of the people present recognized them. However, Erik Selvig had appeared more than once, although his "screen time" was always brief.
Suddenly, with a loud "bang," the car hit someone. Amidst a burst of
exclamations, the car came to a stop, and the three of them quickly got out.
"From a legal perspective, I think it's your fault," Darcy Lewis said as she ran towards the fallen Thor.
"Quick, get the first aid kit!" Jane Foster ran to Thor's side and knelt down, praying, "Please, help him, don't let him die!"
Thor, lying on the ground, took a few breaths and turned his body to look at Jane Foster and the others.
"He needs CPR!" Darcy Lewis exclaimed upon seeing Thor's handsome face, instantly infatuated. "I can do CPR."
"Where did he come from?" Jane Foster looked down at Thor from a higher vantage point, finding him rather strange.
"Ah~" At that moment, Thor let out a low groan from his mouth and struggled to stand up, stumbling like a drunken man who hadn't sobered up.
"Are you okay?" Jane Foster asked.
"Where's my hammer?" Thor seemed to be oblivious to everyone else, muttering to himself, "Where's my hammer!"
"Yes, we can see that you're disoriented from being hit by the hammer. It's quite obvious," Darcy Lewis clearly misunderstood the meaning of Thor's "hammer."
"Oh my god, Erik, look at this!" Jane Foster discovered the pattern left on the ground where Thor had landed and knelt down to study it. "We need to hurry, before this changes!"
"Jane, we need to take him to the hospital," Erik Selvig said, shining a flashlight on Thor.
"Father!" Thor seemed to completely ignore the presence of others at the scene and shouted at the sky, "Heimdall, I know you can hear me, take me back to the Rainbow Bridge!"
"You guys take him to the hospital, I'll stay here," Jane Foster looked at Thor's appearance and listened to his words, thinking that there might be something wrong with his mind.
"You!" Thor shouted at the sky, not receiving any response. He then turned around and walked to Jane Foster and the others, asking, "Where is this realm? Alfheim? Nornheim?"
"New Mexico," Darcy Lewis said with a flashlight in her hand, perhaps frightened by Thor's "ramblings." When Darcy Lewis spoke, she still held an electric gun.
"You dare to threaten me, Thor, with such a small weapon?" Thor glanced at the electric gun, not taking it seriously.
"Shit!" Tony Stark panicked as soon as he saw the electric gun in Darcy Lewis's hand. "God, don't tell me Thor is going to be taken down by this thing!"
"A woman, wielding an electric gun, taking down a god!" Nick Fury also felt his worldview being shaken. "Even those Hollywood writers who can't afford rent couldn't come up with such a ridiculous plot!"
"Easy, this woman is just holding an electric gun. The next plot might not be what you imagine..."
Natasha Romanoff's words were cut off as Darcy Lewis's electric gun shot Thor in the video. Thor's body convulsed and twitched, and then he fell to the ground.
Erik Selvig and Jane Foster both had their mouths wide open, looking at Darcy Lewis in shock.
"What just happened? He scared me!" Darcy Lewis looked innocent.
The scene faded, and the video ended here.
