It adds a background to the character including his dad cheating on his mom at 6 years old and sued them until all their money was taken and their house and after 2 years of poverty his mother killed after he finds the ring by robbers and he is adopted 8 years after he gets sent to the orphanage he get adopted by rich parents. And there are not a lot of marve/green Lantern novels and most aren’t even complete or dropped.
