Capítulo 18: 18. Abducted

Nana once told me that sometimes when you are faced with a bigger problem all your other problems become minor. She said there was one time she had twisted her ankle that she was finding it hard to even walk on, but when their home caught fire she was the first to escape.

She claimed it was only after she was out and safe that she even remembered that she had hurt her ankle. Of course I had completely disagreed with her. They are two different things right? Perhaps her ankle wasn't really twisted.

But right at this moment, that's exactly what was happening. Whether it was the drugs or perhaps the fever was partly only due to hunger, or probably because she was faced with a more life threatening issue aka the dragon man in front of her, she suddenly felt not so sick anymore. Even the cuts on her knuckles hurt less as she staggered back.

Not good. This is not good. Why, out of all the days he could have come, why tonight? Isn't it enough she is sick and injured? Did he want her to die?

Que cursed him down to his ancestors. She is not yet strong so there is no way she could fight him. She stepped away from him but nothing seems to escape his protuding gaze even underneath the hood, he extended a long arm and brought her back to his chest.

Really? Had he no better things to do with his life than stalking? These past few days that he wasn't around were peaceful, why did he feel the need to show up now? Isn't it bad enough that he gave her nightmares does he have to appear in person?

"Why ..are you here?" She hate that she was powerless against him.

Her mind flashed back to the night she went to the infirmary and the injuries on the victims. The deep claw marks on their bodies. Is he here to finish what they started? That is his true nature, what he is capable of and she realized she had been trending on thin ice. Although he had never actually hurt her or anyone in front of her eyes, he and his people were responsible for the massacre going around in the city.

Mother, what possessed her to think she had a chance against him? Right now all she wants to do is run as far away as possible from him. As if he heard her thoughts, the arm snaked around her waist tightened.

"Isn't it obvious? I missed you. Did you miss me?"

"As if. Nothing good ever happens whenever you are around." Despite the fact that she was shaking with fear, her mouth seems to have other plans. It would be best for her to not get on his bad side.

"Please, I am not you." He snickered.

"I wonder why it hasn't finished you yet."

"Perhaps it sensed your true feelings for me which you are yet to realize yourself."

"You wish."

Is he for real? What sort of monster is he? Shouldn't he be out there murdering people?

"Um.. If you'll excuse me, I need to find my cat." She patted his chest wiggling out of his grip.

"You ...are coming with me."

He scooped her into his arms and soon they were out in the open, the wheezing sounds of moving air brushed past her air.

"Put me down! Where are you taking me!?" She struggled with all her might. "Put me down right this second!" She kicked out her legs.

"Look."

"No."

"Look down. If you keep wiggling I'll drop you. I'm trying to show you something below."

"I don't want to see."

He sighed, landing swiftly on a branch of a tall tree. "I'll kick you off this tree if you didn't."

She finally peeked her head out of his cloak, trying to find a footing on the narrow branch.

"There" He pointed towards an abandoned building in the middle of the trees she could only see after straining her eyes. It was surrounded on all sides by big black fiends bend in grosteque angles flapping large featherless wings.

"Bloody hell." It was the tunnel house she was staying at. They had found them.

"Stop them. Why are you doing this?" She choked, her voice catching in her throat. Although she didn't know anyone among them, they are still people and alot of them were injured.

"Doing what?"

"Attacking them! They didn't do anything to you." So that was why he was here. She knew he was up to no good. He was the reason Nana was murdered. Every time he appeared nothing good ever happens. Now he brought his men to kill Zeus's people, they did nothing to them.

"Why are you after them."

"Are you for real? If there's anyone to blame, its you. Who do you think they are after?" he hissed, grabbing her and jumping into the sky again. Its a wonder how he sail through the air without wings.

"Don't you dare put this on me. I'm just a pitiful, lowlife. I have nothing to give them."

"Have you ever wondered how I was able to track you? Gattina, you have something we all want." She refused to believe anything he said. She has nothing to do with this. Angered by his words, she kicked him hard on the shin. Caught off guard, he loosened his grip, dropping her in the air.

Que flapped her arms around and let out an ear piercing scream swallow a mouthful of flies and coughing them out.

"Oh God...Help...Save me...I'm going to die." She was fastly approaching the densely packed trees that would tire out her flesh if she dare fall on them.

"Please.." She choked. One second she was suspended in the air the next she was engulfed in a warm hug, filled with coffee and a strong masculine scent. His large cloak covering her.

"Put your arms around me and hold tight if you want to live. Don't let go."

She obeyed hugging his torso fear gripped her heart. She had already saw her soul flying out of her body upon impact with those trees. He flew into the night his cloak flapping behind him.

Her scream had caught the attention of the fiends on the ground. Suddenly, several flappings of wings broke through the night sky as gurgling noises filled the sky chasing after them. They were speeding fast towards them with mouths with open, their claws extended towards them.

His army?

At least that was what she thought untill they started attacking. Evading sharps claws, the dragon man weave through them as fast as he could. Que buried her head into his chest gluing her body to his. He was moving so fast he might drop her if she didn't hold tight.

Why are they attacking!? Aren't they supposed to be on the same team? His words registered in her brain. He is after her, they are all after her because she have something she have. The only thing she has is the curse, is that what they are after?

Holy mother of Jesus! Not only had it managed to kill everyone close to her, now its going to be the cause of her death! She wand her arms around his narrow torse as he cut through the night sky. But the beasts were equally fast and were soon catching up.

"You dare attack me?" He roared turning back to face them. It was obvious they can't outrun them, his sharp boomerang appeared in his hand and he swing it in the air. It cuts sharp arcs around them emitting a blue light whenever it hit a target, forming a blue shield around them. Claws poked out of his gloved hands and with a single blow, they burst into flames falling back to the ground. Each of his powerful movement caused the pectoral muscles to twitch against her body.

Although he was strong, they were too many. He was caught up between fighting them off and protecting the girl in his arms. They must have realised this as well and decided to attack all at once.

He dived down to the trees, using the trees to dodge and sneak attacks on them.

She could only pray for them to make it out alive. He landed on the ground as huge four eyed monsters circled him.

"Stand behind me, whatever happened don't leave." He whispered into her ears. She nodded her head and was pushed behind.

"Alright, let's end this ." The curvy blade circled back into his hands. They charged all at once.

Que closed her eyes, following his movement along with him. They are going to die, she was certain. And it was all because of her. Warm liquid trickled down his back and she realised he had been injured. There were cuts on his back and his cloak was ripped.

When she opened her eyes, most of the beast were laying in heaps on the ground and he was panting. Although she couldn't see his face, his cloak was pierced in several places and she could see his skin. It was covered in tiny tattooed curves in inky black against his pale skin. It reminded her of something similar but she couldn't recall.

She placed her palm on the cut on his back to stop the bleeding but that was a wrong move. The skin to skin touch distracted him briefly for a second and that was all they need.

He evaded much of the claws but this time they didn't come for him. They came for her. Using his body as shield he let them tore at him while protecting her.

Que was drenched in his blood. They smell of death very powerful in the air and she felt a very strong emotion welling up in her heart, bubbling, wanting to erupt.

It was deep, painful and suffocating and she screamed out, loudily, letting it all out.

Her voice sounded strange and so loud to her ears as they both fell unconscious to the ground and all around her became quiet.

𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦.

She thought as she close her eyes.
