85.36% Marriage Of THE Concubine's Daughter / Chapter 35: CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Capítulo 35: CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Bai Nuo and Bai Lang, both being concubine daughters, were aware that their marriages would most likely be political alliances rather than based on love and might not be as Desirable, unlike Bai Liu's marriage.

"Did I say something wrong?" Bai Liu asked, noticing the change in atmosphere.

Bai Lang chuckled to herself, realizing that Bai Liu was not as innocent as she seemed.

Observing Qu Rou Li's reaction, Bai Lang became certain that Qu Rou Li was aware of Bai Kang's plans for their marriages.

"You're right. Soon, it will be our turn to marry," Bai Lang acknowledged.

Bai Nuo couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy and envy towards Bai Liu. Seeing Bai Liu's happy expression, she decided to dampen the already sour mood.

"We, as concubine daughters, cannot have the same luxury as you, Jei jei," Bai Nuo remarked, emphasizing the difference in their situations. "Our marriages will not be based on love like yours with such high status."

Sou Qing gasped, surprised that Bai Nuo would try to stir up trouble on this day. Was she not showing any respect to furen?

Quickly trying to clarify Bai Nuo's words, Sou Qing interjected, "She didn't mean anything by that. She's just saying that the First Young Miss has a very happy marriage, isn't that right, Nuo-er?"

Sou Qing glanced at her daughter, who stubbornly looked away, refusing to retract her statement. She knew that Bai Nuo was determined to stand by her words.

Qu Rou Li chuckled, but there was a strange tone to it.

"How can she claim that her words meant nothing? Is she insinuating that I would treat her marriage with contempt because she is a concubine-born?"

Qu Rou Li had reached her limit with Bai Nuo's disrespectful attitude over the past few weeks. The girl had shown a level of manners and respect that was barely acceptable.

She would not allow Bai Nuo, a young girl, to cast any shadow on her daughter's homecoming and marriage.

"No..no, that's not what she meant," Sou Qing stammered, desperately trying to defuse the situation. "She didn't mean it in that way."

Yun Yi, always the defender of Qu Rou Li, chimed in, "Then what did she mean? Has Madam ever treated Bai Nuo differently?"

Qu Rou Li and Yun Yi anxiously awaited Sou Qing's response. Even Bai Liu, who had been quiet until now, was curious to know the explanation.

Sou Qing's head swiveled from Qu Rou Li to Bai Nuo, desperately hoping that her daughter would say something to resolve the tension.

But Bai Nuo remained stubborn, folding her arms across her chest, refusing to utter a single word to help herself or her mother.

Bai Lang, feeling compelled to break the impasse, opened her mouth to speak. After all, Sou Qing was still her maternal family member.

"Jei jei," she said to Bai Nuo, using the term for older sister. "You should apologize to Muqin.

Even if you didn't mean any harm with your words, it is still offensive if anyone other than our family overhears them. The Bai family's reputation would be tarnished."

To Bai Lang's astonishment, Bai Nuo suddenly lashed out, slapping her across the face with such force that she fell to the ground.

Silence fell upon the garden everyone gasped, their eyes widening in shock. No one had expected such venomous outrage By Bai Nuo.

"Enough!" Bai Nuo snapped, her voice dripping with disdain. "Do you honestly think I would believe your fake innocence, your white lotus act?

You're nothing but a replica of your conniving mother, a scheming and deceitful wench whose only purpose would be fitting for a brothel."

A second gasp escaped from the onlookers. How could Bai Nuo dare to call Bai Lang such vile names? It was beyond belief that such words could come from the mouth of a well-respected young lady.

If these words were to be heard outside the confines of these walls, not only would the Bai family's reputation be tarnished, but Bai Lang's own standing would be irreparably damaged.

What consequences would await Bai Liu in her husband's household, Qu Rou Li fears looking around, to see if anyone else witnessed this scene of embarrassment.

But before anyone could utter a word, Bai Lang rose from the ground, a mocking laughter bubbling from her throat.

"A whore, you say?" she retorted, her voice laced with a mixture of amusement and contempt.

"At least I possess decorum and uphold my reputation. I cannot say the same for you, dear Jei jei. Your true colors have been revealed today."

Bai Lang was done playing the role of a loving sister, done pretending to be someone she was not. From this day forward, all pretense would be tossed aside between the two of them.

Bai Lang brushed off the dirt from her clothes, her eyes fixed on Bai Nuo with a bone-chilling stare. The Pavilion fell into a tense silence.

"A whore is not a term to be used lightly, dear Jei jei," Bai Lang's voice was calm, but her words carried a sharp edge.

"One could argue that going around, proclaiming your love for a prince who doesn't even know of your existence, what would that make you? A delusional whore."

Her words hung in the air, piercing the silence and leaving everyone speechless. The truth of her words was undeniable, and the weight of their impact settled heavily in the garden.

Meanwhile, from a distance, two observers watched the scene unfold.

"This is her true self," Bai Nuo remarked, a touch of hate in her voice. "Not the innocent facade she once put on for her Fuqin."

Qu Rou Li and Bai Liu watched in astonishment as they witnessed this side of Bai Lang for the first time.

They had never seen her so confident, outspoken, and exuding the aura of a prestigious princess that resigned in the palace. It was as if a completely different person had emerged before their eyes.

Yun Yi, having caught glimpses of Bai Lang's true self before, was not surprised by her poisonous words. She knew the extent of Bai Lang's sharp tongue and the damage it could inflict.

The eruption of hatred that had been festering inside Bai Nuo for months took over her in that moment. Something inside her burst, and without thinking, she retaliated with equal force.

A sudden exchange of slaps ensued, with Bai Lang delivering blows and Bai Nuo giving it back just as fiercely.

Despite being only twelve years old, Bai Lang and Bai Nuo were almost the same height, with just a few inches of difference between them.

Bai Nuo stumbled back, her face flushed with the impact, and blood forming on her lips. The room fell into a shocked silence, witnessing the intense confrontation between the two sisters.
