Eva blinked hearing him say that. For once, she found his offer tempting. If she was his secretary, he wouldn't make her do a pointless job and he wouldn't see the need to decrease her salary just because she raised her voice higher than usual. He was once her school colleague, and though a typical bad guy he wasn't that bad.

And to crown it all, if she stays with him, she would be able to do more investigation on her father's murderer with him without him becoming a bit grumpy because she was working on something else or asking some questions not related to work.

However, but still or moreover, whichever the case was, she couldn't fall for it. The CEO had a higher position compared to Brian and he had the final say, so she dared not cross the CEO, if Brian was the one in his position instead, she wouldn't have found the need to hesitate.

Not letting the stare grow longer, she hesitatingly said, "No, Brian."

He creased one of his brows, "And why?"
