He snickered. “I’m surprised she’s letting you get away with it.”

I frowned at him. “What makes you think she is? Damned character is driving me crazy.” In exactly the same way Mark had when we’d first been fucking with each other’s minds. “That’s why I thought I’d put some space between us and write another book.
