Williams heard the sound of water dripping at the end of the stairs, he didn't know how long or the number of stairs he had descended. A wave of joy suddenly flowed through his body as he saw a ray of sunlight. His pace quickened and his breath increased. 

Everybody else would have the same reaction as him after been trapped in an eternal darkness for hundred of minutes. 

"Eh?"

His steps halted and he quickly unsheathed his sword, not because he saw someone but because of the ray light. He wandered how a sun ray could be below when he had been descending for the past hour.

Williams advanced downward alertedly until he reached the lowest level, then he discovered that it was actually a ray of light emitted by an object the size of an adult man. He couldn't recognize or make out the object's figure because of the light. He finally decided to move closer to the object and what he found surprised him.
