Prudence was only halfway through what she was planning to do. Corsets were never worn inside a shirt and skirt, but she needed a safe pocket to keep the letter and what better place than a lady's personal pocket? She just hoped that Vincent would not suddenly decide that he needed to touch her. He had not till date and even now she hoped that did not happen till she finds time to burn the letter. 

After Prudence tightened the corset, she slid the letter into one of the breast pockets that had formed.
