The main point is I yelled at him.

He's looking at me with the kind of smirk I'd expect to see on the face of a predator assessing its prey. "Still scared of me?" 

Yes! 

Wait, actually, I'm not as afraid of him as I was before. I don't know if it's because he still needs me and I have time to escape before his plan is complete or because a tiny part of my brain thinks he doesn't want to hurt me.
