Capítulo 2: PART #2

"You wouldn't say that if you really know me," he said taking small steps towards me and I also moved steps backward in fear. "W-who are you?" I stuttered. "I'm Theodore Black. The owner of Black Enterprise Co. and also one of the most powerful Mafia leaders in the country," he said studying my reaction.

I stood there shocked and scared for myself. Why on Earth did I speak to him like that? I was sure I heard that name before but I just didn't know where and now that I know, I wish I didn't. I'm sure he's planning my death in his head right now.....or he might be joking. I looked up at him expecting him to tell me it was all a joke but instead, he looked serious about what he said.

I stepped back afraid that he might hurt me and I slipped and closed my eyes expecting to feel myself rolling down the stairs which were behind me but instead, I was pulled into a firm and wet chest by my arm. His arms circled my waist to prevent me from falling and my arms automatically wrapped around his neck.

I looked into his eyes and for a moment I felt safe. I felt like I could trust him with my secrets. I just felt like being like this forever- no! This is not right. I can't just trust anyone. I shouldn't be feeling like this- especially not with him.

I pushed him away from me. "I have to go," I said looking everywhere apart from his face and body. "No you need to rest," he said sternly. "Okay but I'll rest at home," I said seeing that he won't take 'no' for an answer. "Okay. I'm just going to change I'll be right back," he said about to walk into the room that I ran out of but I held his arm, stopping him in his tracks.

"What now?" He asked frustrated. He made it sound like I was bothering him. "I-I'll l-leave by myself and I'm sorry for bothering you," I said finding the exit and rushing out of the house before he could say anything.

I took a cab to my house praying that my dad won't be home. I arrived at 4:50 pm and due to my rather unfortunate luck, he was at home. Not just that, he was drunk which also means more cuts and bruises for me. "Where have you been slut?" He slurred taking a sip of alcohol from the bottle. "I-I was at school," I lied knowing that I'd probably die if I told him I was with Theodore Black.

"Stupid bitch! You were supposed to be working by now or have you en your place?" He yelled. "You have to work to be able to pay me for having to give birth to a pathetic child who reminds me of my ex-wife," he slurred throwing the bottle of alcohol at me. I ducked but I wasn't quick to get out of his way which resulted in the bottle hitting my forehead making me scream in pain.

"Ever since you came into my life, you've brought me bad luck and troubles so I will also continue to punish you for your existence," he slurred taking off his belt. There was no need to remind me of who I was because I believed that I was everything he called me and more. Pretty sad right? He wrapped the belt around his wrist and hit me till he was satisfied and went back to his room.

I slowly and carefully managed to stand up and cleaned up the mess he had created and went back to my room to tend to my wounds hoping that one day everything will be fine.

A few minutes later, I heard yelling from the living room and went back there to check it out. I saw Theodore and a few men sitting in the living room with my dad. I guess I was so focused on cleaning my wounds that I didn't hear them come in. "Mr. Jones this is the last time I'm asking you for my money. If you don't have it, I'm going to blow your fucking head off," Theodore growled standing up from his seat.

He looked really angry. If we were in a cartoon, smoke would be coming out of his ears by now. I was hiding behind the wall and I am sure didn't see me. What was bugging me was why my dad would be owing Theodore money. "L-look, please just give me some time to find the money," he said fearfully. I'm sure he had sobered up a bit.

"No!" Theodore yelled angrily. "I had given you 6 months to get my money back but you rather spent it on alcohol," he continued. My dad had been owing him for that long? But how? Why? He gestured to one of his men for something. The man gave Theodore a gun making my eyes widen in shock and fear of losing the only family I had. "Say goodbye Jones," he said pointing the gun at my dad.

I rushed out of my hiding spot ignoring the pain spreading through my body in hopes of saving him but I was too late. Theodore had already pulled the trigger, shooting my dad square in his chest. I halted in my steps clinging to the nearby table for support as tears strolled down my face.

I know that he was not the best father but at least I considered him family. He was the only family I knew. I had hopes of reuniting our father-daughter relationship but all that just disappeared into thin air. Yes, I know that he was abusive but he's still my father and I knew that somewhere deep down inside he loved me. Others have lost both parents and were at foster homes due to that but I was lucky to at least have a father but that too has been taken away from me.

"Is he your dad?" Theodore asked staring at me. "Yes," I said breaking into a full-blown sob. He looked shocked and then his expression changed into one of guilt and regret. "I'm sorry, I didn't know," he said sorrowfully. I let out a bitter laugh in between my tears. "Now you do but that isn't enough to change anything now is it? You've killed the only person who was the closest thing to family for me and now I have absolutely nothing to live for. He was the only reason I was living for" "-but he abused you. I heard a lot of screaming but I just didn't know that it was you," he said cutting me off.
