The sound of humans screaming in pain and agony never got tiring.
The smell of fresh blood was abundant in the air as the Bleeders maimed and tortured the terrified humans they found hiding in the basement. The pitiful people were smart enough to avoid hiding in the upper rooms where we would've found them immediately. Yet their foolish plan merely delayed the inevitable, especially since there was only one way in or out of the basement.
It hadn't taken long for the Bleeders to sniff them out and find them, but I gave them an A for effort.
I had already sorted out the humans to be killed from the humans to be turned. Now all I had to do was wait for the Bleeders to feed before we could move on. I released the young woman in my arms, her body hitting the ground with a thud. The beautiful pale blue eyes that had drawn me to her were now pale and lifeless.
