Capítulo 50: In the Spotlight

Elijah had that glint in his eye, like he was the guy who'd dig up a grave just for kicks. He blurted out the question that was on everyone's mind, "What's the big deal, man? Why can't we shake hands or have a drink? There's no poison in the booze!"

Lucius shot back, "Yeah, but you're toxic."

Elijah couldn't help but laugh. Meanwhile, Sophie had sidled up behind Scarlett and asked, "What can I get you to drink, Miss Li?"

Scarlett stood up, all polite-like, and said, "Thanks, but where's the water? I can grab it myself."

Sophie smiled warmly, "No worries, you just sit tight. I'll get it for you."

Elijah chimed in, "Hey, since Scarlett is teaching Ronnie, we're practically family now. Plus, it's my birthday! We gotta toast to that, don't we, Scarlett?"

Scarlett, sitting next to Lucius, gave a small smile and said, "Sure thing. I'll raise a glass of water to you. Happy birthday!"

Elijah played along, "You can stick to water, but your drink's on Lucius here."
