Lucius came downstairs, freshly showered and dressed in clean home clothes. As he passed by Scarlett, he left a faint scent of shower gel.
He sat at the head of the table, in front of a simple yet tempting cake. Picking up a spoon, he said, "Let's eat."
Jack and Scarlett began to eat. During the meal, Lucius said, "You don't need to go to Mingfang Song anymore. I've already sent someone to talk to him. Starting next Monday, you'll be teaching Ronnie three times a week, at times that suit you. The Brook family will sign a formal employment contract with you in the next few days."
Scarlett paused, then nodded and said, "Okay."
Lucius, his gaze lowered as he ate his cake, spoke a few seconds later, "You don't need to resent me for making decisions on your behalf and blocking your clients. As I told you last night, Song isn't genuinely interested in hiring you as a tutor. If he can't gain tangible benefits from you, he won't formally employ you. You're wasting your time with him."
