“ARLEIGH BURKE!!!” The shout caught Arleigh completely by surprise. For one thing she was in the middle of showing Bulkely how to sort herbs. The younger destroyer had a good memory and a knack for organization. She figured out Arleigh’s system very quickly. The two paused in their work. Arleigh turned to Bulkely. “Go outside and see what the fuss is about.” She ordered. “I’ll clean up here.” “Yes Arleigh.” Bulkely agreed and left. She was back a minute later, breathless and frightened. “It’s your mentor. She’s here with Marlin and she needs your help.” “New Jersey, here?!” Arleigh was surprised. She hadn’t seen New Jersey since the battleship furiously ordered her to Spain two years ago. And if she was with Marlin, it must mean something was very wrong. Arleigh left her berth in a hurry.
