Carter smirked when she saw Connecticut at the dock. Her sister had her own berth in Bremerton but preferred to visit Carter in Bangor. Or was that annoy. Potato-potato she supposed. “Well, well what brings the pier puppy over here?” Connecticut huffed. She despised that nickname as much as the Building 22 jokes. “Broken condenser. I think it’s seaweed.” She replied. Carter sighed, wincing in sympathy. Having a busted condenser was like a human with a bad case of indigestion. That still didn’t stop her from scolding her older sister. “If I have told you before, I have told you a thousand times, you can’t run your reactor in shallow water. Use the diesel.” “I hate the diesel. It makes me sick.” Connecticut pouted. “I know.” Carter made an effort to soften her tone. Traeger told her to mind her voice and when she was trying to be soothing. No submarine liked using the diesel, it was nauseating. But rules were rules.
