After booking the room, the two of them headed upstairs.
"Once we get there, let me check your foot injury." His voice was indifferent but caring. It was undoubtedly Henry Russell who spoke.
"Ah... alright." It didn't really hurt anymore, though she left this half unsaid.
While waiting for the elevator below, "ding dong," the elevator doors opened. A drunken man reeked of alcohol staggered out, assisted by a petite girl who seemed to struggle with his weight.
Smelling the stench, Charlotte Cooper felt like retching, but managed to hold it in. Henry was equally annoyed, his usual indifferent face betraying a trace of irritation.
Upon seeing the two of them, the girl quickly nodded and stepped aside to let them pass. Once they had entered the elevator, Charlotte couldn't help but sigh. Her wet clothes felt exceptionally cold.
Noticing her discomfort, Henry Russell instinctively pulled Charlotte into his arms.
