Capítulo 225: Call of the currents
When the teleport first happened, Bessie wasn't in a good place. Not physically; physically she was actually fairly safe and the ghosts seemed content to leave her alone. No, what she struggled with was far more mental. One moment there had been light and Dahlia was talking, then the next moment it was silent and dark and it made Bessie's heart drop.
It wasn't often brought up, usually people tended to focus on Avery's clinginess instead, but Bessie wasn't much better off. Similar to harpies, minotaurs were a social species. They're herd animals at heart that are supposed to live in moderate sized, close knit communities. She might not have been well learned, but her heritage was one thing that Bessie *had* done research on and she knew enough to know that being separated from the others wasn't good for her. Those were her friends, her family, her herd. It didn't matter that she never grew up in a minotaur commune, it hurt to be away from them all the same.

AngelAsphodel Sorry for the chapter delay. This event was actually one of the earliest things I had planned for volume 2 but once I got here I realised I didn't really know how to properly write it. Which was problematic, cause this scene is actually kinda *very* important for some stuff. Hopefully it's a fun read, even if maybe it was a bit weird.
Also, I didn't fully realise how similar this event would be to Euryale's whenI first planned it so hopefully this feels different enough not to feel repetetive. The two scenes *were* originally planned with their duality as their purpose, effectively showing how two ancient powers, similar in many ways and offering power in different ways, were still nevertheless different. I hope their differences are noticible enough to make their similarities feel interesting rather than repetetive.
As an additional fun fact, this inheritance was originally planned as an homage to traditional cultivation novels. I integrate different facets of a lot of genres and books I read, but cultivation novels are a surprisingly large base for L:TBF.
