Capítulo 13: The Goblin's Raid

[The slime quivered but reacted swiftly. Limloo's training had instilled an instinct for survival.]

[Dodging the goblin's spear with a fluid wobble, the slime began to retreat, leading the goblin away from its companions and toward the Slime Village.]

[Your grip on the throne's armrest tightened as you watched the pursuit unfold.]

[The slime darted through the underbrush, its gelatinous form gliding effortlessly over obstacles.]

[The goblin, clumsy and single-minded, gave chase, unaware that it was being led directly toward one of the village's pitfall traps.]

[The trap, a concealed pit lined with sharpened wooden spikes, was triggered the moment the goblin stepped onto the false ground.]

[With a startled cry, the goblin fell, its body impaled by the spikes below.]

[The slime paused briefly, observing its pursuer's demise before wobbling back toward the village unharmed.]

[When the mental link faded, you exhaled sharply, your heterochromatic eyes narrowing in thought.]

["No casualties. That's good. Limloo's training is proving invaluable." You leaned back, allowing yourself a moment of satisfaction before the weight of the situation pressed on you again. "But this is only the beginning."]

[Limloo entered the hall, his core glowing softly. "My Lord, I sensed your concern. Has something occurred?"]

["A goblin scout," you replied, your voice steady. "One of the slimes led it into a pitfall trap. The goblin's dead, but the problem isn't the scout—it's what comes next."]

[Limloo pulsed faintly, understanding the implications immediately. "If the Goblin Lord linked with his scout as you have with your subjects, then he already knows our location."]

["Exactly," you said, rising from your throne. "Which means we don't have much time before he makes his move. Whether he leads the raid himself or sends his goblins to test our defenses first, we need to be ready."]

[Limloo's voice was calm but resolute. "The preparations are complete, my Lord. If the Goblin Lord comes, I will ensure his capture with minimal goblin casualties, as per your instructions."]

["Good," you said, your tone firm. "But if he doesn't show and sends his forces alone, I'll go to him myself. I won't let him hide behind his subjects while he endangers mine."]

[Limloo pulsed brightly, his core brimming with determination. "Your resolve is admirable, my Lord. Whatever unfolds, we will prevail."]

[The tension within the village was perceivable as the final hours of preparation ticked away. Slimes patrolled the fortified perimeter, their faint glow illuminating the traps and barricades.]

[You sat on your wooden throne, your mind racing as you considered the possibilities.]

[An hour later, the stillness of the forest shattered. Faint guttural cries echoed from the distance, growing louder as the goblin raiding party approached.]

[You rose from your throne, stepping outside to assess the situation.]

[Through the mental link with your slimes, you observed the advancing force.]

[Nearly two hundred goblins, armed with crude weapons and clad in mismatched scraps of armor, emerged from the forest. Their guttural cries filled the air as they surged toward your village.]

[However, the Goblin Lord was nowhere to be seen. The coward had stayed behind in his village, sending his forces to do his dirty work.]

["Limloo," you said, your voice sharp with purpose. "The Goblin Lord isn't with them. He's hiding in his village like the coward he is."]

[Limloo floated beside you, his core glowing brightly. "As expected, my Lord. Cowardice is the hallmark of a weak leader. Shall I proceed with capturing the goblins while minimizing casualties?"]

[You nodded. "Use paralysis magic or any means necessary to incapacitate them without killing them. Once they're subdued, we'll deal with them properly."]

[Limloo pulsed in acknowledgment, his telepathic voice calm and assured. "It shall be done."]

[As the goblins charged closer, the traps and defenses set by your slimes came into play.]

[Pitfalls claimed the first wave, their cries of shock and pain cutting through the chaos. Wooden spikes, carefully concealed beneath the soil, injured others, forcing the advancing horde to slow.]

[But it was Limloo who truly turned the tide. Hovering above the battlefield, his core glowed with a vibrant intensity as he began casting his spells.]

[A wave of green light emanated from him, enveloping a group of goblins and causing them to collapse, paralyzed and motionless.]

[Meanwhile, the slimes under his tutelage proved their worth. Though their magic was simple and their power limited, they used their abilities with precision and creativity]

[A group of slimes used earth magic to create small mounds and uneven terrain, causing charging goblins to trip and fall.]

[Others utilized wind magic to create sudden gusts that disrupted the goblins' attacks. A goblin swung its crude axe at one of the slimes, only for a well-timed breeze to push the blade off-course, causing it to stumble.]

[Another cluster of slimes employed water magic to splash the goblins' faces, momentarily blinding and disorienting them.]

[The goblins' frustration grew as their attempts to overpower the slimes were met with clever tactics rather than brute force.]

[You observed the battle intently, the mental link feeding you a near-perfect view of the unfolding chaos.]

[Limloo's power was undeniable; his mastery over elemental magic allowed him to paralyze, immobilize, and incapacitate entire groups of goblins with ease.]

[Despite the overwhelming number of goblins, not a single slime was lost. Under Limloo's guidance, they moved as a coordinated unit, their efforts amplified by the traps and fortifications surrounding the village.]

[The battle dragged on, but the goblins' momentum waned.]

[Paralyzed and incapacitated, many of them were rendered helpless. Those who remained standing grew hesitant, their morale faltering as they realized the futility of their assault.]

[You shook your head, your heterochromatic eyes narrowing with resolve. "No, Limloo. I'll be the one to capture the Goblin Lord—and eliminate him. That coward chose to hide behind his forces, but I'll ensure he can't endanger our village any longer."]

[Limloo pulsed with a mixture of concern and understanding. "My Lord, are you certain? While you possess great strength, the Goblin Lord may have defenses of his own."]

[You smirked, confidence radiating from your expression. "I'm certain. I'll entrust the safety of the village to you while I'm away. Keep paralyzing the goblins and ensure none of them can regroup or harm the slimes. This is my decision as the lord of this village."]
