Capítulo 12: Chapter 12 - The White Whale
-Raito 1st POV-
Me and JoJo were having a chat about our worlds, whilst Suki was just observing us. She seemed to be in thought for a while now. I've learnt that JoJo's world's history with major events match up with my world, such as World War 1 and other famous battles. But I managed to find something that's different, a very interesting power with a lot of potential. Something I must learn, Hamon. Hamon manifests itself as electricity-like sparks, and it can be seen by ordinary humans, unlike my stand.
JoJo seemed pretty willing to share these details. Either he's over trusting, or overconfident that I won't be able to learn this. Only from knowing him for a day, I can say it's likely the latter. But his character does seem quite noble when he's not playing around that is.
I asked if he could teach me, and whilst he didn't refuse, he did say he was unable to teach me as 'Hamon' is something he does naturally and inherited from his grandfather, even though he never met him. This is unlikely, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
A useful piece of information he did give me though is that Hamon is produced through breathing, so I'll just observe JoJo when he's using the Hamon and try and replicate it. Learning Hamon on my own, even if it's weaker than my stand, in my opinion, is more valuable, as it will be my strength, and I know I'll be able to rely on it in times of need, Unlike another power.
"Raito." Suki tugged on my sleeve and pointed in the direction of the army, "Look they're doing something."
I looked over and she was right, they all seemed to be gathered together, ready to charge into battle, even when there was no enemy in front of them. It certainly was a weird thing to look at. Especially as this is my first time going to a fantasy-esque world.
"We should get ready for a battle, it seems maybe something is coming." I stood up and told the other two, stretching a bit as I'd been sitting down for a while, gotta get the blood pumping and be ready for anything.
'A battle outside of the psychological world. I'm... Exited? but It feels different. My heart is pounding.' I thought as a subtle grin appeared on my face, something both of the others saw.
"Haha, that's the spirit. I love a good battle, I can't wait to stretch these muscles and test out my new combat ability. How cool would it be if I stood there, seemingly unarmed, and then suddenly Boom! Two Tommy guns in my hands and I just spray. That would be cool wouldn't it, hahaha I'm such a genius." JoJo stood up and pulled off another pose, like the one previously.
'Does he take anything seriously.'
"Pay attention, and stop messing around. We should stick together and not make rash decisions." I said facing JoJo, making it clear he's the one this message is aimed at.
"OK ok. geez, we're in another world, you should lighten up a bit." JoJo said with a smile on his face, but what happened next wiped his smirk clean off.
"The white whale" I whispered under my breath, mesmerized is an understatement. It was... Majestic and magical.
It was snow-white in colour and the White Whale had a large curved horn protruding from its forehead. Its eyes were a neon red and there was a glowing pinkish wheel-like sigil on its back that, I assume, is the reason it could fly. Oh did I not mention, that it was flying in the air, closing in on the platoon of soldiers?
Only one dinosaur-like creature rode forward, shooting off some kind of projectile that came out of nowhere, 'magic?' I thought
The prospect of more abilities makes me eager to finish this. Breathing and calming my beating heart, I reminded myself not to be hasty and overconfident, or it'll spell my downfall.
Suki seemed to notice my interest in the magic, so she said. "Hah, that magic is weak. I'm a lot stronger than that little girl."
'A useful piece huh, I guess it's fitting seeing as she's a Queen.'
JoJo was still staring at the whale intently. At first, I thought he was scared and my previous assumptions about him were wrong, but then he smiled and his eyes shone with battle intent, so strong it was almost oozing out of him.
'Interesting' I thought before finally moving my attention back to the battle, where it seemed everyone had joined in, United under one goal, to kill this whale. Something we have in common.
"Come on guys let's go, this is our mission, so let's go kill that thing. I wonder if it tastes good, I've never had whale before, or a magical beast either for that matter. Let's finish this quick I'm hungry." JoJo shouted out with drool running down his mouth. It seems maybe he missed dinner, and we have been here for a while.
"Raito, I'm hungry too. Let's eat whale-chan," Suki said whilst looking at me in hunger and expectation.
'I wonder if I'm the only one taking this seriously.'
