Capítulo 16: Chapter 16 : Poison drink

Sasha got irritated, "Marlin , like how many times are you gonna sigh and why are you in my room in the first place ..?"

"Well, I got bored . And Im thinking about something .."
Sasha called for a maid to tidy her hair . In the early morning Marlin came to her home the very next day after the yesterday night party . No one seemed to be bothered because everyone treats Marlin as their own daughter especially her parents . Sasha has an older brother but he's involved in business so he's out of home.
So Marlin can come and go anytime .

"Its actually maybe Prince Ethan might be assassinated tonight at the last party ball.."
Sasha was taking a sip of her favourite coffee while she spat hearing that-
"Don't tell me , Marlin you....", Sasha got scared .
"What the heck, NO!", Marlin tried to clear the misunderstanding. "Why would i try to kill my Prince Charming..?!"
~Silence~
Ah shit . What did i spilled out ...

Sasha looked at Marlin with a shocked expression and told her maid to leave them alone. She then locked the door and holds Marlins shoulders.
"I think we both have a long way to talk don't we", Sasha smirked.
"Ha....ha...", Marlin reverted her eyes.
~After 2 hours~
"So basically the guy you like is Prince Ethan?", Sasha asked with curiosity.
"Its not like.. more like i admire his face because he's totally my type", Marlin blushed.

"You don't even understand the look on your face that you're in love with him but yet you're denying the fact, Marlin. Anyone who looks at you will see how much you like him to the point you put your best friend's love life at stake ...", Sasha thought.
"But aren't the twins both look the same?", Sasha asked again .
"Yes.. but he's different", Marlin started fidgeting her fingers while thinking of him.
After hearing that Sasha stood up while being determined . She ought to forgive Marlin for whatever she did ; since she did as a maiden of love . Her friend is experiencing this for the first time so she's glad.
"Aren't you gonna plan then? Tonight might be the last time you see since he doesn't show himself often. So you should profuse your feelings to him!!"
Marlin didn't paid attention to the last sentence rather she raised her hand, "Shouldn't saving him would be the first priority?"
"Oh yeah that too...", Sasha remembered.

The time for the ball started . Everyone started getting ready for the ball. As usual Marlin also got worried what to do. She's like should she dress up pretty to catch his attention or should she be different from other girls to make him notice her.
Loren shouted, "Sister , are you ready? Or did you liked staying at home yesterday too much that you want to stay again tonight?"
Marlin shouted back, "No, no . Im ready . Cominggg!"
At one point she was about to trip. But she hold onto her dress firmly while being determined that she would succeed tonight . Her family didn't get to know about her disguise plan yesterday and since todays the last day of the party ; they agreed to let her go so .
Here she goes-
As the host announces Marlin and her family enters hall . As usual , the stares , the food and everything. Sasha came near Marlin , "So, what now ...?"

Marlin replied , "Well, i have to find those suspicious strangers whom i saw yesterday. Then i can know how are they gonna attempt the assassination plan ahead.."
"But aren't those scary",Sasha explained.
"Well, theres nothing more we can do..", Marlin replied back looking here and there. Fortunately she actually did find those bastards. When she spotted she went to that direction .

Not telling Sasha because she doesn't want to involve her in danger anymore . So she marched towards those people and sneak through a corner to listen to them.
Of course Marlin isn't that brave enough to confront them about and its high likely they will actually admit to everything. But she could hear -
"So hows the assassination plan going ..?", one asked.
"Its fine . Because tonight Prince Ethan will be attending and it's obvious since he told us ."
"Who...? Marlin leaned closer.
"Forget it . No need to tell the name . You do remember even if its our misunderstanding someone might hear us today and we will probably be killed if he gets to know this ..."

"I ordered a noble lady to execute the crime . Shes gonna serve a drink to the prince and he's the type to not refuse a drink of a lady if shes a noble. We have to get rid of Prince Aiden later".
"Who is that lady...?", one asked.
"Everi Diana, a daughter of the count . She's head over heels for Prince Aiden . First i asked her to kill Prince Aiden but she refused at once. But we had her little sister hostage so she agreed to end Prince Ethan."
Marlin was shocked to what she was hearing one after another. "They are more dangerous than i thought.."she thought. She still leaned in to hear more info.
"I hid her in the south of the woods in front in a cabin . No one can find her hahahahah.But if the plan fails we have a killer in the midst ; thats the waiter who's near him. He's a fine killer and do it in a min."

A guy in a confused state asked, "We didn't tell him he wont be saved if he gets caught killing in public or beforehand. Hope the plan doesn't fail..."
Marlin got up from her place when they left saying that . She went back in fear . Shes kind of sweaty thinking what troubles he has to face all the time .
Marlin felt sorry for him .
So she clenched her fist , "So, thats why I'm going to save him at all cost ..!"

She was suddenly grabbed by Sasha.
"Where have you been this whole time ?", she asked.
"Well, first thing first, since i don't know everyone here but you do . Can you tell me who is Everi Diana here?"
Sasha looked at Marlin for some time because she was wary of . But she thinks it might be related to the case so she pointed out Everi in the midst of the crowd.
Everi's situation wasn't good . She looks pale and worried. Her facial expressions aren't good either . Sasha started to think what happened to her but Marlin knew shes being forced to do this . She has to prevent this at all cost .
Suddenly the announcement bells started and the royal family entered. This time the most extravagant was the princess.
Princess Sylvia. People say shes a stubborn princess , claiming whatever she wants and she gets it . Although she got her traits from the empress who is known to be the most beautiful in the kingdom. After they came , this time Prince Ethan entered.
*Thumps*
"My heart is beating so loudly...i cant control it", Marlin thought. He really looks handsome today.
"Wait control your heart, Marlin !! You have a mission to accomplish!"

After everyone bowed as usual since its Prince Ethan's first time approaching the nobles all the ladies gathered around him . While my eyes looked immediately at Everi .
She slowly approached the prince. A waiter suddenly came onto her and handed her a drink then he immediately went near the prince .
Trying to make a stern expression , Everi asked the prince with a fake smile later.
"Your highness , would you like to have a drink?"
