Capítulo 11: Chapter 11: The Bait
There was no trust amongst them.
Kim Seojin was certain about one thing. There were three players except him in this team, and two of them were Killers.
That meant there was at least one Killer between Jiang Min and Lee Junho. At least one of them was lying about their identity.
It was also possible that both of them were killers and didn't know about the identity of the other person.
Jiang Min and Lee Junho were arguing amongst themselves, but none of them attacked first. Both of them knew that the one who attacked first was going to look more suspicious.
There was also one more person in the team. It was the Regressor, and Kim Seojin could see that this guy was observing him.
He looked a little confused, but it was unclear what the reason was.
Kim Seojin wondered if it was because he was a Regressor. He had been looking at him suspiciously.
'Don't tell me it's because I wasn't present in his past Regressions?'
He had a bad feeling about this. If this was the first time the Regressor was seeing him, that meant his appearance had changed some things in this world.
In the past Regressions of Lee Taehyung, there was no person named Kim Seojin.
"Who is your sponsor?"
The Regressor broke his silence.
"I'm sorry, but it's our first time meeting. I can't tell you such things."
Kim Seojin didn't answer. Or rather, he couldn't answer.
Every player in the Tutorial Stage was sponsored by an existing Player in the outside world. That's why they could enter the Tutorial.
He didn't have anything like that. But if he said that, he didn't know what kind of reaction he was going to receive.
In the worst case scenario, he might be killed. Hence, instead of telling the truth or making an easy to catch lie, he decided to stay vague.
"You weren't supposed to be here."
The Regressor said his thoughts out loud.
"I am not supposed to be here? Do I need your permission to be in the Tutorial?"
Kim Seojin intentionally misunderstood the man's words to make it clear that he didn't understand what he was saying.
In reality, he knew all too well. The Regressor's words confirmed his assumption that this was the first time he had met this Regressor.
The Regressor didn't react. He had no skill to catch lies yet. He didn't know if this man was actually innocent or just pretending.
But one thing was certain. The future had changed ever so slightly.
In his past life, Lee Junho and Jiang Min were also part of his team. But the fourth person wasn't Kim Seojin.
In fact, he hadn't even seen the fourth person this time. It was like his existence was completely erased.
The slot of Tutorial was still a thousand, but that one person was missing and in his place, Kim Seojin was taking part.
"Enough arguments. Neither of you know who the Killer is. So there is no point arguing."
Kim Seojin decided to stop talking with the Regressor. First, he had to stop the other two team members.
Both of them were almost on the verge of fighting. And if someone was killed and they turned out to be a Regressor, he was going to die as well. Survivors were going to fail.
His own life depended on this game.
"We still have two days to find out. It's better to take things slowly."
"Are you Kim Seojin? I think you're the only person in this team except me who didn't kill anyone in the First Stage. So I would rather trust you."
Jiang Min was the first to agree with Kim Seojin.
He glared at Lee Junho.
"As for you, I don't trust you at all. You and that Necromancer have killed people. So it's highly likely that you two are the killer."
"Hmph, someone like me doesn't need to lie. And I'm more convinced that you are the killer. So stay away from me if you don't want to die!"
The four of them had to stay within a certain distance from each other. Still, they kept as much distance as was allowed.
"I know that Killers also need to survive this game. So I don't expect them to expose their identity easily. But if we fail, all four of us will die. So we do need to end this game."
Kim Seojin sat down, talking to his teammates. He didn't know who the Killer was and he didn't want to find out this time either.
He knew that he just had to make sure that none of them died before tomorrow when he could again use his Guidance on them and find the Killer.
"Do you have a suggestion?"
"The only solution is waiting. For the first day, we will wait. I am sure the Killers will make some mistakes."
"Why do you think they will make a mistake if you already said your plan out loud?"
"Because there are some things that can't be controlled. I'm sure even the Killers need to end this game fast, so they could get more contributions."
"So here is my suggestion. If the Killers want to take action, then be my guest. Kill me while you still can, because tomorrow, I will have a way to find out your identity."
Kim Seojin directly threatened the two Killers hidden amongst his teammates.
He could wait for tomorrow and find out their identity, but even if he did that, he could not prove it to others.
The second Survivor was going to be apprehensive about his words. Hence, he wanted to make it so that the killers revealed themselves before tomorrow
As long as they made a mistake, it was easy to convince the other Survivor.
"Do you have a way to find their identity?"
Lee Junho asked, slightly surprised. But instead of being shocked, he appeared happy.
"If that's true, we can certainly win!"
Jiang Min wasn't far behind either. He also looked happy.
"If you can do that, we will survive and get the contribution points as well!"
If Kim Seojin didn't know that at least one of them was the killer, he might have been fooled by their happiness. But he knew that one of them was faking it.
He had tossed the bait, and all he needed was to wait for the fish to take the bait.
