Sora was woken up from his sleep by a knock on the door. By the sound of the voice it was Alicia. It seem he is being called for dinner.
"Sora, Grandma said that dinner is finished. When you ready join us." (Alicia)
"Will do, just give me a few minutes. I'll be down there later." (Sora)
"Okay! We'll wait for you. I'll be going first then!" (Alicia)
"Ok!" (Sora)
Sora was planning on changing his clothes he didn't have a chance to change earlier since he was pretty tired and sleepy so he decided to rest a bit first. He figured that its not really appropriate for him to wear his adventurer clothes inside the house.
"I should get going, I don't want to keep them waiting for too long."
After changing into some home clothes, Sora began to head for the dinning room. He was informed earlier by Alicia where it was located, but either way he wouldn't have gotten lost since he can use detection magic to figure out the layout of the house. With his mastery of detection magic such a task should be fairly easy.
After walking for a while he finally reached the dinning room. There he found Alicia and her grandmother who looks fairly similar to her, Alistaria.
"Ah, boy you finally arrived have a seat." (Alistaria)
"Sorry to keep you waiting." (Sora)
After greeting Alicia and her grandmother Alistaria, Sora sat in the offered seat. The 3 then started to eat after praying to the Dragon Gods.
"So was the mission hard?" (Alistaria)
"It was fairly difficult." (Sora)
"Yeah it was difficult grandmother, there was even an Orc King." (Alicia)
Hearing what Alicia said about the Orc King, Alistaria was a bit startled.
"What?! Is this true?!" (Alistaria)
"Yeah, there was one but don't worry Grandmother we already took care of it. You see..." Alicia then told the story of how they fought the Orc King. Alicia was even saying her praises for Sora when he fought face to face against the Orc King.
Hearing about how the pair fought against the Orc King and the Orc Knights, Alistaria was worried at first but amazed by the end.
"You two... thats was really reckless of you. Sora it should have been fine for you to retreat at that point and report to the guild as it wasn't in the given information. It's really reckless to fight against those odds. Normally a mission of this scale should be done by a party of B Rank and C Rank Adventurers, Especially against an Orc King who is nearing Rank B, not to mention fighting against 4 Orc Knights which is C- Rank Monsters. You two were even outnumbered." (Alistaria)
Alistaria scolded the two of them for their reckless behavior, but inside she also felt a sense of relief as the Orc King would have been a huge problem, worst case scenario she would have to fight it herself. Even though she was a A Rank Adventurer, monsters are generally stronger than humans, an example is an A Rank Party is needed to subjugate a high ranking Monster not to mention a group of them. Although she was relieved of having a problem taken out, she was genuinely worried over the two of them.
Sora throughout this scolding didn't answer back, as he saw that Alistaria was genuinely worried for the two of them. For Alicia he could reason out since she was her granddaughter but why is she worried for him?
Unknown to Sora, Alistaria was a genuine nice person even back in her adventurer days she would look out for her juniors in the guild. Due to this she was adored by the adventurers back then. It was the same as right now as she sees Sora as her junior. Unknown to her that he had lived for a million years already.
Although Sora didn't argue back when scolded, he really was not being reckless when they did fight the Orc King. As he could easily kill the Orc King if he was able to use his other techniques, but he couldn't as he was trying to hide that fact. There was also the fact that he didn't really sant to be promoted to B Rank, As if he did get promoted he would jave on chouce but to do designated missions assigned to him, should it be known that he can overwhelm an Orc King in a fight he would have qualified for B Rank.
"Still its an incredible feat to be able to fight against a Orc King in melee combat. More so in equal terms that you could kill your opponent should he show a single opening in combat. I'm amazed you still a C Rank adventurer. Should you take the B rank Exam you could easily pass." (Alistaria)
"Well it would be bothersome. Being a rank B I won't have any freedom to decline designated quests assigned to me. So I like to stay in Rank C for convenience." (Sora)
"Well it's quite selfish reason, but I can understand." (Alistaria)
Others may think that what Sora is doing is really selfish and get angry. They won't think well of Sora's acts as he can help more people by slaying higher ranking monsters, but Alistaria could accept it, with he experiences that comes with age she has learned to accept more things and she can see where he is coming from, and although Sora's actions are considered selfish, Alistaria is sure that if someone is in danger Sora would go save them even if it leads to a promotion and showing off his abilities.
"Ah, that reminds me do you have any important business currently?" (Alistaria)
"Well I have to meet with a friend of mine in Academy City in a few weeks besides that nothing else." (Sora)
"So you can spare a few weeks?" Asks Alistaria again as she calculates the time it would take for Sora to travel to Academy City
"Well, I guess I can..."
Sora replied slightly confused why she would ask something like that. He figured its probably that she needs help with something such as a subjugation quests or something similar. Although thats what Sora thought, what Alistaria asks of him is beyond his expectations
"Great! I'm thinking of having you tutor Alicia for a while if you don't mind."
