Capítulo 56: Midnight Revelations, Chapter 56

Damián wore beige linen pants and a long-sleeved red shirt that perfectly matched the color of his hair. He didn't consider himself an expert in elaborate hairstyles; he was lucky that his hair had its own aesthetic.

In the bedroom, his things were meticulously arranged beside him. However, he decided to light a cigar, walked into the living room, and settled into a comfortable armchair overlooking the city.

With gentle gestures, he separated the cutter, the blue flame lighter, a carefully selected cigar, a bottle of crystal-clear whiskey, and an antique glass. A slight smile formed on his lips as he remembered Lennart, the former lover who had given these objects to the old Damián.

Damián knew it would be the last time he'd use them; when he finished the cigar, he was determined to get rid of everything.

He skillfully lit the cigar and began to enjoy it with slow and calculated puffs, not exceeding two puffs per minute. His goal was to keep the cigar at an ideal temperature so that he could fully enjoy its complex flavors.

Damián longed to "chew" the smoke, knowing it would enhance his perception of the cigar's unique nuances and aromas.

Damián took a sip of the smooth, woody, aged whiskey. The first, second, and third sips were taken quickly, causing Damián to exclaim, "OH!"

He needed that sensation, savoring his cigar and drink, gazing at the view of the city and reflecting on himself. The introspection was intense.

A change had occurred, but he couldn't find the right way to process it. His first and only engagement was followed by living together and learning traditions. He felt uncomfortable and pathetic!

He was a man of a messy mind, yes, but marriage!

For better or worse, Adam knew absolutely nothing about his life, not even his real age. At least there would be no awkward conversations about his bachelor days or adventures.

People were right when they said that someone of a certain age who remained single was complicated. Preferring solitude was a clear warning to the unwary.

Damián defined himself like that, without reason, as a comet trapped in an orbit or just wandering through space. But he couldn't afford to crash and burn like a rocket.

Darkness and light, overwhelmed thoughts—he knew how all relationships ended; he was a fatalist!

"For those who love and lose, the sun and food will never be the same," he proclaimed aloud.

In the sixth glass, he continued aloud, "An agreement is an agreement. I said I would go to Kadman's house, so I will. But I didn't specify a day." With the effects of alcohol starting to take hold, he began to smile.

Twenty minutes later...

He reminisced about his youth and college days, growing up believing that challenges were invitations. He didn't want to move. And for tenths of seconds, he missed the fraternities he had been part of in college—the fierce defense of ideals, drinking cheap and warm beer while protesting for causes he didn't care about and wouldn't care about later.

Lost in thought, the surroundings were already dark when he felt someone approaching. He thought, "Damn it," when his friend returned home. Without turning around, he spoke:

"An agreement is an agreement. I said I would, but I didn't promise it would be today. I'm bored, impatient, and in a terrible mood. However, now that you're here, sit down, and we'll have a drink."

Without receiving a response, he looked back and...

As soon as he raised his eyes, Damián heard Adam's voice. A small shiver ran through his body when he realized that his pheromones were slightly agitated, an involuntary reaction to the Alpha. Adam spoke with a dry, deep voice.

"Why are you still here? Aster has been at the Campbell's house for hours."

Adam was intrigued by Damián's audacity in leaving his parents waiting for him. The young Omega seemed not to care about anything, just relaxing at home, drinking and smoking cigars, as if he were taking a break from his worries.

Damián responded with a hint of sarcasm: "What a surprise; you came here to see me?"

He observed the lack of security in the building. "The security in this place is terrible. You were never announced, and today you invaded. For heaven's sake, this place has no security."

He smiled lightly and teased: "You surprised me; I thought you were the rule-following type. However, you know how to break into a door; congratulations. I thought you were going to teach me to be a good man!"

Damián raised the glass and offered whiskey and a cigar to Adam. The latter was wearing a three-piece suit that seemed very expensive and tailor-made. Damián complimented him: "You look handsome today."

Adam asked if Damián smoked, to which he replied, "Cigars, yes, why not?"

Adam watched Damián, who was talkative, bold, and affectionate. He leaned in, and the kiss that followed was intense and real, a contrast to the make-believe world where Adam was the warrior prince and Damián the damsel in distress.

Suddenly, Damian felt an overwhelming desire to hug, kiss, and make physical contact with Adam. The beating of his heart indicated that his body was crying out for "love" or "sex".

Heat surged through Damian's body, making his face glow after the kiss. Adam could sense the aromas and flavors of the cigar Damián was enjoying and the whiskey he was drinking.

Damián rose from the chair in a slow but precise motion, causing Adam to sit in his place. He wanted to snuggle into his lap like a pet cat. Adam repeated the question: "Why didn't you leave?"

Damián answered honestly, "I was thinking about my life. I've never been engaged to anyone, and I've never been married. I feel strange."

Adam, still surprised, asked, "Is this a joke?"

Damián replied with a slight smile, "It's no joke. I wanted to be like an abyss, a deep person, but I guess I'm shallow, like a kiddie pool."

Damián continued, his voice full of emotion: "I wished that this world was different, that there were no Omegas or Alphas. This Alpha and Omega thing ruins everything, don't you think, Adam?"

Adam analyzed the unprecedented situation, an unheard of question directed at him. His eyes roamed over Damian's face, capturing every nuance of his expression as he formulated such unusual words. "What is this madness, what crazy thoughts did your Omega have?" he pondered, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.

But there he was, always with a surprised and shocked reaction to the irresistible sight of this complicated, disturbing, traumatized and sexy Omega, with whom he was falling more and more in love every day. Dramatic intensity replaced the relentless irritation in his gaze, and his eyes now reflected an intriguing gleam.

God... This wasn't the time to talk about it. Adam quickly checked his watch. "It's time, my angel, let's go."

Damian: "Don't you think?" he repeated, ignoring the rest.

Adam: "You shook me at first sight," he commented with a slightly hoarse and magnetic voice, his eyes fixed on Damián's as if he were reliving that first encounter. "I couldn't look away." His thumb caressed the back of Damián's hand, a subtle and intimate gesture. I wanted you so much at that moment. It was an excessive desire.

"You stopped right next to the car I was in," he continued, "and you walked in front of me and then disappeared between the cars. I imagined you in front of me, with your eyes on me."

His tone was a deep whisper that made Damián move in his lap. "Looking at you how?" he asked softly, hypnotized by the warmth of his gaze.

"Damián was enthusiastic. A little impressed...a little intimidated by the effects of alcohol."

Adam squeezed his hips and pulled him closer. I couldn't help following you, trying to find you. When I found you at the hotel, it was intense, but still perfect.

Damián swallowed, remembering that his reaction hadn't been much different. "When he first saw Adam, all he could think about was sex. Wild sex and dirty sheets."

Adam pulled at her shoulders until their foreheads touched. "No one has ever made me feel like this before, Damian. You were the only one."

"You've become indispensable to me," he whispered. "Now I can't bear the thought of spending two days without you."

"I'm crazy about you, Damián." Tilting his head back, he pulled him into the sweetest of kisses, his lips moving softly next to his own. "I would kill for you."

And for Damián, who wasn't used to this exchange of pheromones, it was like stepping into an intense aromatherapy session. There was a deep, woody scent in the air that enveloped him like a comforting cocoon, soothing his senses and enveloping him in a feeling of well-being and calm—as if he were immersed in a warm embrace of aged wood.

Damián understood the weight of Adam's words. His wealth was like a shield, a tool to exert power and control over everything.

He gently cupped Damián's chin and kissed him tenderly, almost as an apology. "I like you too," he murmured, his lips brushing against his. "I can't stand being away from you."

With each kiss, it felt like Damián was stamping his passport to paradise, and the certainty of what he felt was overwhelming.

The kiss was returned with passion, devouring it, but still Adam held Damián with affection and respect, as if he were made of fragile crystal. When the kiss finally broke, they were both panting.

Damián felt a lump in his throat. In many ways, Adam was a flawless gentleman. His affection was genuine and spontaneous, not shaped by fortune or appearance. Anyone who couldn't see past Adam's handsome face and billion-dollar bank account didn't deserve to have him.

Damián continued his monologue, a mixture of thoughts and words directed at Adam and himself. "I don't deserve you, Adam. The problem is that you're amazing. If you were just a little worse, things would be easier. But I guess I would have to be a better person to deserve your love, and you would have to be a little worse to accept mine."

"I'm so sorry, Adam. My head is a mess!"

Adam fell silent, ready to refute Damián's words, but he realized that his Omega was already asleep.

Carefully, Adam stood up with Damian in his arms and carried him to the bedroom. Once there, he noticed that the suitcases were ready.

He picked up the phone and called the Kadmans, telling them they would be late and no one needed to wait for them.

Adam wished that Damián could sleep for a while so that the effects of the alcohol would wear off.

An hour later, Adam had already arranged for his security to take Damián's bags. There was a box with some things in it. He didn't know if they were important.

Curious, Adam opened the box, and his eyes were immediately drawn to a small treasure: a luxury watch from a world-renowned brand that appeared to have never been used. Its precision and elegance were remarkable, a masterpiece of watchmaking craftsmanship. Carefully, he ran his fingers over the cold metal, appreciating the weight and quality of the piece.

Without hesitation, Adam opened another box, revealing a white gold chain set with a dazzling diamond. The gem sparkled like a lone star in the night sky, radiating a luster that only nature could provide.

As he examined the watch, Adam grabbed his portable virtual screen, determined to trace the history of this gift. He wanted to find out how many watches of this series had been sold, in which countries, and who had purchased them. Given the extent of his influence and resources, tracking down the purchasers of such an exclusive luxury item wouldn't be a difficult task.

But as Adam turned the watch to photograph the serial number, a discreet engraving on the back caught his eye: "Always Yours." He carefully photographed the watch and reverently returned it to its case.

Determined to solve this mystery, Adam made a phone call to inform the security team that he was going downstairs. As he carried Damián in his arms, he felt his blood boil with jealousy and intrigue. Who could be the recipient of such a significant gift, marked "Always Yours"?
