Capítulo 172: Trial ( II )

Today was the day, Asterias thought to himself. He was nervous for the sentence for treason wss death.

He had yet to see Lumielle. He couldn't even ask to see her. It didn't feel right. He couldn't close his eyes, insomnia haunted him at night. He tossed and turned in his bed and sometimes, he could see the wraith-like image of his mother by his bedside. It suffocated him, made him feel as though he was frozen.

Magnus although clumsy, did still love Asterias. After the death of his precious wife, Ophelia, it physically pained him to see the last remnants of his love. It was selfish of him and he knew it. Yet, Asterias saw his father's pain: any sign of his mother had been sanctified, placed under careful love and consideration. He still stared at the picture of his mother, eyes glazing over with memories that he had.

Alas, Asterias didn't know if this loving mother ever existed.
