Capítulo 3: Chapter 4: Sorting through the Info Dump and Making Plans
Alexander ordered his people to disperse and turned to James and Anna, " This is enough excitement for one day. Please meet me tomorrow in the morning in the hall where we first met. I am going to my room to rest and please tell Glenn to bring me lunch and dinner in my room." Alexander's newly awakened instincts were balking at the thought of being polite to his subordinates but Alexander quickly surpressed these errant desires of showing his dominance over others as he had more important things to do. Alexander also decided to do something about these urges arising him due to his bloodline.
Alexander entered his room and sat down on his bed. Alexander did not stop on the way to survey the land as he was connected with it and had a bird eye view of his kingdom in his mind. The river mentioned by Anna originated from the mountains flowing through the interior of the forests and emerging in the western side of the land through an underground channel. The most interesting thing was that as this was a flat piece of land floating in space, the river falls in the abyss but as the river is part of the land, the falling water gets converted into energy and gets reabsorbed by the land. Alexander decided to order his people to not go near the edge of land as it would be very sad if by some accident they fell and get absorbed by the land as they also are a part of the land.
Alexander then goes over the information given about the platform. The platform is a symbol of advancement of his civilization. A King's civilization is divided into 3 categories, star, moon and sun. Star has 9 levels while moon and sun have 6 levels, each level denotes the strength of civilization and it's people. It is relatively easy to climb ranks during the star phase but it becomes increasingly harder to raise ranks during the moon and sun phases as you not only need to conquer increasingly powerful worlds but also have corresponding levels of subjects under the king's command. Subjects are also divided into star, moon and sun. There is a big difference of power between warriors of star, moon and sun level but no further information is given because he has not even conquered a single world.
Alexander further reviews the information given to him. Next piece of information is about the realm gate. The gate acts as a portal to other worlds and the king can also search for new worlds through the gate, the gate only provides an estimate of the power level of a world and using the gate is not without risks. The worlds that are being invaded strongly rejects the invaders as after conquest is done, it will get assimilated into the king's land and loose it's existence. Thus, the world send warnings to it's most powerful inhabitants through visions, bad premonitions, uneasy feelings, etc. But this is only possible when the world has some sort of rudimentary conciousness. Moreover, powerful natives can sense the usage of gate and can stop the king from invading. Thus, the king has to be careful in selecting the worlds to be conquered.
But if the king himself enters the foreign world, then he cannot be detected as his bloodline automatically makes him a native of the world but then the king can only reconnect with his kingdom when he has sufficient king's might to form the bridge between the worlds. Forming the bridge connects the two worlds until the gate on the side of the world is destroyed. King's might is gained by obtaining followers in the foreign world and establishing your own kingdom or conquering another country or by gaining complete control over a part of the foreign world.
Alexander decided that the main priority after forming the bridge is to adequately guard it as a door can be opened in both the directions and he did not want some powerful fellow to enter into his kingdom and wreak havoc in it because if the platform and the pillar is destroyed then, the king will die and the kingdom will turn into dust. But it is not that easy to destroy the platform because a king can strengthen the platform and also the platform itself strengthens with the advancement of civilization.
Between all this thinking, Alexander did not notice the passage of time and soon night came. Alexander was roused from his musings by the sound of knocking on his door and he heard Glenn's voice, " Your Majesty, are you awake?"
Alexander bade Glenn to come inside.
Glenn came carrying the same bowl of soup but bigger in size and said, " Your Majesty, please have this soup. You were sleeping in the afternoon and I did not had the courage of waking you up. I am sorry." Alexander noted the unusually timid behaviour of Glenn in front of him and decided to ask Anna about it. As for the sleeping part, to better concentrate on the knowledge given to him, he was lying on his bed with his eyes closed which made the onlooker feel that he was sleeping. Alexander, " Do not worry Glenn, I am not angry at you. You do not have to be afraid of me. Please, put the bowl on the bed and go get rest "
Glenn did not say anything, she just bowed and left.
Alexander quickly finished the soup and fell asleep
Morning came and after eating his now repetitive bowl of soup, Alexander was sitting on his ugly throne and thought, " First thing, I am doing after stablishing my kingdom is changing this ugly chair."
As Alexander was drawing increasing graphic plans of destroying this ugly chair, Anna and James entered the hall and bowed towards him in greeting. Alexander gestured them to stand up and said, " Soon I will go to conquer our first world but before that we have to build some basic support in our kingdom. We have to train soldiers, stockpile food and build better houses. We have to also train more blacksmiths, carpenters and other such people. Every new king has some time before his kingdom area starts decreasing. I have two months of time. During this time period, I would be operating the realm gate to find a suitable world. Since we have such a large area, a little delay of few days will not harm us. Commander James, your job will be to train 10,000 soldiers from my subjects in order to maintain order among the people as not my subjects are good people. Miss Anna, I want to know why Glenn is so afraid of me? "
Alexander did not ask about their clothes because he had bigger concerns than investigating the origin of his people's clothes. From Anna, he came to know that Glenn was a servant of a noble household and was not treated kindly. This is the reason why she was so afraid of him. Alexander understood that only time can treat her wounds and he will continue to treat her like a normal human being.
For the next two months, major changes occured in the kingdom. As per Alexander's directions, the large communal halls were pulled down and individual houses were build to give his subjects better living conditions and some much needed privacy. James had done an admirable job and had trained up an army of 15,000 soldiers, much more than Alexander's expectations. Farming fields were constructed but the main source of food reminded hunting. Alexander also joined the soldiers to train up his body and reflexes. The soldiers were first hesitant to train along with him but soon came around. Alexander, for the rest of time searched for a suitable world.
Using the realm gate for the first time was a surreal experience. It was similar to the trip made by Dr. Strange of marvel universe but on much larger scale. He moved through different dimensions within a single multiverse but Alexander moved between the multiverse themselves. The size of the plane of existence made him realise his own tinyness. The area explored by him did not even amount to a single grain of sand when compared to the vast universe.
The worlds, beings and wars he saw made him realise that the universe was the emboidment of the law of the jungle and he was nothing in the grand scheme of things. This realization lit a fire in his mind to become someone that matters in the vast universe. Alexander vowed to attain the power needed to do so by any means but he will never harm an innocent fellow, only those who stand between him and his goals will face his wrath and the rest will be spared. Alexander was also happy that his subjects deeply respected him as he had the power if reading the minds of those who have submitted to him and to talk to them telepathically. Alexander did not used this power needlessly as he was not a fan of peering into others find but it was a necessary tool to know the true intentions of a person even if they cannot betray or disobey him.
Another thing, he discovered that there are multiple versions of the same world, this versions are formed due to shift in timeline due the choices made by the world's inhabitants. Thus, there was a prime world from where infinite number of parallel worlds originate and it is possible to conquer all the parallel worlds by conquering the prime world. But the prime worlds are hidden in the cluster of parallel worlds and are protected by the cosmic entities overseeing the multiverse like the old man who had reincarnated him. The loss of few million parallel worlds do not concern them as every moment millions of parallel worlds form and get destroyed so the conquest of a single parallel world by a king does not even come in their notice. Alexander never had any intention of attracting the attention of these cosmic entities and did not search for any prime worlds as it is a sure way of getting erased.
As Alexander come across many worlds, some of them were worlds shown in animes, comics and movies while others were completely new to him. Alexander decided to remain clear of the new worlds as his foreknowledge was his biggest advantage. Alexander was searching for a world which will be easy to conquer and will provide him with much needed manpower and resources. Then, a world suddenly came into his mind, the world which was conquered by Qin Yi after he conquered the Naruto world. It was a world where dead mummies came to life with the single purpose of ruling the world. The time period of his entry would be the awakening of the Chinese emperor as he already had his army. Alexander would take place of the Chinese emperor and conquer that world. A king can take place of a native by random selection or targeted selection. Targeted selection can be done by the king only once a year. By random selection, the king takes place of any native of the world, the king does not have any control over it. Alexander quickly searched through the gate and found that multiverse easily as it was only a low level world. It was a star level- 2 world.
Alexander quickly informed James and Anna of his trip and was faced with resistance from both of them as they did not want to send him alone. Alexander quickly assured them of his safety and stepped through the gate. Travelling through the gate was like travelling through a river of stars and soon Alexander lost conciousness.
