Capítulo 10: Chapter 10: Eating a Dragon Egg?

"Are all the Five Colored Dragons idiots?" Muria stared at the absurdly simple way to increase the hatch rate of dragon eggs, finding it hard to believe. Simply providing an environment that was abundant and stable in their respective element was not difficult for a powerful dragon.

"Don't these wretched dragons think about anything else other than accumulating wealth?" As a semi-kindred of the Five Colored Dragons, Muria was slightly annoyed, "They lay so many eggs in one clutch, likely to compensate for their pitiful hatching rates!"

Given the red dragon's position in the food chain, six eggs in one batch seemed excessive. But when considering the hatching rate, calculating the number of times a pair of red dragons could lay eggs in their lifetime, factoring in the death rate of baby dragons, six eggs per clutch is necessary. Otherwise, the Five Colored Dragons would go extinct.

"Metallic dragons seem to do better when it comes to hatching. While they only lay two or three eggs in one clutch, they can usually hatch all of them, and the quality tends to be higher."

Reading various books on dragon egg incubation, Muria suddenly had a thought and stroked his chin, "Speaking of which, I don't seem to have any siblings, so my mother laid only one egg, and that was me."

"Huh, could this be because my father was a legendary Titan?" Muria's mind began to wander, "Golden Dragons are known for their individual strength among the Dragon Race, and I, hehe, have inherited the bloodline of both the Titan and the Golden Dragon. I shouldn't have any problems in overpowering Five Colored Dragons of my age single-handedly in the future!"

Muria wildly daydreamed about his seemingly limitless, bright, and lovely future until Sophia the head maid could no longer bear it. She gave a light cough, startling Muria from his reverie.

Embarrassed, Muria offered an apologetic smile and looked down at the book in his hand. It was a study on how to improve dragon egg hatching rates, authored by a Silver Dragon Mage.

The Five Colored Dragons might not care much about their offspring, but the kind-hearted Metallic Dragons do. Thus, half of the books in the three-meter-high stack in front of Muria were from the Metallic Dragon Clan's own research.

The other half came from the other creatures of Elasia's research on dragon eggs. Yup, the knowledge from this stack of books not only applied to red dragon eggs but also encompassed all Five Colored Dragon eggs and Metallic Dragon Clan eggs.

"So, Sophia, all I need is this one book." Muria held up the book in his hand, shaking it slightly towards the blond girl. It was this book that provided the method of using Fire Element Crystals to provide a stable environment and thus improve the production of red dragon eggs.

"Why did you find me so many books?" Muria asked.

"Respecting your order, young Master Muria." Under no sense of guilt, Chief Maid Sophia replied, "As per your request, I placed all the books relating to dragon eggs in your library in front of you before you woke up."

"Oh my god! I clearly pointed to the red dragon egg and said, all you had to do was find books related to red dragon eggs." Muria groaned in pain, "Who told you to find all the books about dragon eggs?"

"Young Master Muria," Sophia, the Head Maid, lowered her head somewhat embarrassingly, "In fact, I did not find all the books about dragon eggs in Lord Archmage Atris's library. Time was too limited, so I could only find this small part."

"A small part?" Muria was somewhat speechless, "Yes, indeed a small part. " He thought about the tremendous amount of books that his mother possessed, and the rows of high bookshelves that stretched as far as the eye could see. This confirmed Sophia's statement.

"You've worked hard, Sophia." Recognizing the effort Sophia put into finding the books he needed among the ocean of texts, Muria felt a bit guilty given how dutiful and responsible she had been for a maid.

"It's what I should do, young Master Muria." was Sophia's humble response.

"Anyway, these many books are enough for my needs; you don't need to continue looking." Muria gave another order, "Get me enough Fire Element Crystals, fresh fire-attributed monster blood, magic dust..."

Muria listed a few more materials; these were all for setting up a magic array.

"Please wait a moment." After seriously noting down Muria's needs, Sophia left the room.

In less than fifteen minutes after Muria had started reading to kill time, Sophia came back with eight maidens holding silver plates that carried the materials Muria had asked for.

"That fast?" The speed was indeed surprising to Muria.

"Of course, there are hundreds of thousands of marine creatures in the surrounding sea willing to serve you at any time." Sophia gave an answer Muria hadn't expected.

"Aren't these all things you took from my mother?"

"Without Archmage Atris's permission, even you, Young Master Muria, are not allowed to use a fraction of Archmage Atris's property." Sophia stated quite seriously, "These are tributes from the Ocean tribes around the castle for you."

"My tributes?" Muria nodded, again recalling the fact that his mother is a dragon, and also remembering the monsters that cheered for him not long ago.

Muria was silent for a moment, then took the materials and began to draw the magic array directly on the crystal floor of the room.

It's worth mentioning that although the entire castle, including the floor under Muria's feet, is made up of crystals full of magic power, Muria couldn't utilize any of it, as his mother had set up a vast and intricate spell array to turn the entire castle into a whole with terrifying defensive power.

Therefore, beside the Golden Dragon Mother herself, no one else can use even an iota of the magic power in this Crystal Castle. So, from Muria's perspective, although his living quarters are indeed luxurious, that's about it, the rest - he can only look but not use.

"Phew..." Muria let out a long sigh, wiping the non-existent sweat on his forehead. Given his physical condition, sweating was a very difficult feat.

"Finally finished. I thought it was the simplest magic array, I didn't expect it to be so difficult to draw." Muria stood on a red magic array with a diameter of about three meters, the hexagram as the main body, feeling very satisfied. This was the first time he drew a supernatural magical array by himself, which had extraordinary significance.

"It is very commendable that you were able to successfully create a magic array for your first attempt, Young Master Muria." Sophia, who had been silently watching Muria draw the magic array, said with a smile. "Moreover, successfully creating a magic array at your age is sufficient proof that you have extraordinarily outstanding spellcasting talent."

"Heh heh." Muria laughed. After all, he just used the blood of a fire attribute monster along with some other magical materials to draw a slightly more complicated geometric figure. He felt there was nothing much to be proud about.

"Let's activate it and see how it works!" Muria put the six diamond-shaped fire elemental crystals into the six nodes of the magic array, then used the mental power he naturally had since birth to activate the magic array.

The red fire element was led from the magic crystal by the magic array, then very smoothly concentrated in the center of the array, calmly coming out. The external manifestation of this was a red flame igniting in the center of the array, with its red dots constantly floating up and then dissipating into the air.

"Is that it?" Muria was a bit disappointed. It felt like lighting a gas stove, completely dissipating his sense of achievement. Even though this flame looked quite dreamy.

After a slight hesitation, Muria picked up a Red Dragon Egg and put it in the center of the array. The red flame disappeared, as all the fire elements released within array were absorbed by the Red Dragon Egg.

"It shouldn't get roasted, right?" Muria looked at the Red Dragon egg on the magic array emitting the light of the fire element and muttered maliciously, "If it gets cooked, I can try to see what a Red Dragon egg tastes like."

Then, Muria noticed Sophia on the side looking at him with a very shocked gaze. He immediately realized, as someone with half of the Golden Dragon lineage, he just said he wanted to taste a dragon egg. This is simply heresy.

"It was just a joke, Sophia. Don't be so surprised." Muria laughed it off, trying to cover his slip up, "In any case, how could a Red Dragon Egg ever get cooked?"

"It wasn't a funny joke, Young Master Muria," Sophia advises, "Even though you hold the Titan bloodline, you equally have part of the Golden Dragon bloodline. Therefore, you must never harbor any wicked thoughts of eating a dragon."

Even during conflicts among evil dragons, the victor will only expel or imprison the loser, seldom resulting in death. As for consuming their own kind, it is quite impossible.

"I got it, I got it," Muria waved his hands, pretending to be impatient. He felt a little guilty, but it seemed like the head maid didn't make any other assumptions, instead, she suspected that the influence of the Titan bloodline made him say such words.

"Hmm, the dragon egg has more vitality." Muria placed his plump little hand on the red dragon egg. He could feel a faint vitality growing inside, and it was now conveying a very excited emotion.

"It seems the method described in the book is correct," said Muria, turning to Sophia and trying to cover the mistake he had made, "I need to hurry up and draw the remaining five magic arrays."

"Let me help you." Sophia stepped forward to help Muria prepare the pigment for the magic array, and it seemed that she no longer dwelled on the previous conversation...

After finishing his meals for the day and getting ready for sleep, Muria looked contentedly at the six incubation arrays in his room and the red dragon eggs within them: "I've done everything I need to do, now all that's left is to wait!" Then, Muria plunged into endless darkness.
