Capítulo 13: Chapter 13 - Music Producer Tae Jae-Hwa (1)
It is the end of December. More than seven weeks has passed since Oh Min-Hee became a trainee under HBYE Label. She was not able to do the only thing she was supposed to do when she planned to join this agency which was to find more about her brother and what really happened. The actual training for becoming an K-Pop idol was hindering her search for the truth. She was regretting her decision for a moment but then steeled her will again because what is done is done. She was just frustrated by the status quo and wanted to change it.
Oh Min-Hee asked her adoptive father for help but he said that he was helpless. If he had any information about the happenings inside the agency he would have already given. With nothing else to do, she started to find a way for herself.
Oh Min-Hee found hope when she heard that a music producer named Tae Jae-Hwa was searching for an idol trainee who could help him with his demo. She first asked her vocal instructor what is a demo. She replied that music producers hire singers to try out their songs that they have written so that they correct out their mistakes when they listen to it and then submit to the concerning parties when done. This was the first time Oh Min-Hee heard of this but it was good information and thanked the vocal instructor.
Oh Min-Hee then asked her dance instructor when the classes where done about why no one is taking opportunity as good as this. The dance instructor looked at her as if she was an idiot. Oh Min-Hee was angered by the looked but she withhold her boiling emotions. When the dance instructor saw the look of curiosity which Oh Min-Hee was portraying, she sighed and replied.
"You really don't know? This information as already spread to the whole agency and even the trainees who are busy know of this information. Just how much isolated you have to be to not know of this. Anyway let me say don't even think about taking that job which was posted by music producer Tae. Why do you think he would search for idol trainee's instead of idol's for the job. It is because no idol want to work with him. Do you get it, his reputation is so bad that idols avoid him like a plague. Rumors are floating around that he was hired through nepotism and that is not the bad part at all because it is common in our culture. But the worst rumor is that he is into drugs and was caught for the possession of drugs. But I don't know the validity of that rumor but just in case that just a tinge of that rumor is true it is best to stay away from him. He is just waiting for some naive and dumb idol trainee will go to him for that job. Do you understand now?"
Oh Min-Hee who was just listening to that huge explanation just nodded her head portraying that she understood. Then the dance instructor waved her hand to show that Oh Min-Hee is to leave the room now, so she left.
Oh Min-Hee went to the cafeteria and ate her dinner. After finishing she went back to her dorm instead of opting to continue her training.
When she went outside of the building it was freezing cold and she hurriedly put on a jacket that will protect her from the cold. She was so deep into thinking that she forgot about it and thus led to that situation.
Oh Min-Hee reached her room and found that Jess was not there. She thought that Jess is fitting quite well if not for the issues related to the weight she complained about and that thing was the plight of an artist being in the K-POP industry.
She directly slept on the bed after taking a long and peaceful bath because the trainee's from the other dorms where not there to disturb her inside the bathroom. It always annoyed her that she had to share with multiple trainees but she was not able to do anything.
She thought about the things which she has learnt about and contemplated her choice. After some time, she decided what she should do and then she dozed off.
