Capítulo 18: Chapter 18: The Damned Ones

As per Gojo's order, Yuji, Megumi and Nobara came to Eishu Juvenile Detention Center in West Tokyo City as a result of the sudden appearance of a cursed womb.

As Gojo was busy with other things, he couldn't come instead the assistant manager of Jujutsu High, Kiyotaka Ijichi, was sent for instructions.

Kiyotaka is a relatively tall man with a slim figure, mid-length black hair that shapes his head, and parts across the front of his forehead. He has small black eyes and normally wears glasses. Kiyotaka has curved black eyebrows and sunken cheeks that give him a resting bored expression across his face most of the time. He sports a normal manager's uniform, which includes a black suit and tie attire.

As Kiyotaka faced the trio, his stern expression hinted at the gravity of the situation. "Our 'Windows' confirmed a Curse Womb approximately three hours ago," he began, adjusting his glasses. "The evacuation process was 90 per cent complete when the decision was made to close off the facility."

Leaning in, Kiyotaka continued, "Five inmates are currently trapped inside along with the curse on Detention Center Building 2!" The urgency in his voice echoed through the confined space.

With a slight nod, he added, "Curse Wombs that grow and change shape... can be expected to become a curse close to that of Special Grade." The trio exchanged glances, absorbing the ominous information.

"Our options are limited, but we must act swiftly." He gestured towards the exit, guiding the trio towards their daunting mission.

As the weight of the situation settled, both Nobara and Megumi fell silent, realizing the gravity of the task ahead. Meanwhile, Yuji's focus took a different turn.

"Special Grade? What's that," Yuji asked.

Hearing Yuji, Kiyotaka looked at him like an idiot, then said.

"You don't know the power dynamic?"

"No," Yuji replied.

"You really are Gojo's student," Kiyotaka remarked with a hint of amusement. He then began to explain, shedding light on the intricate hierarchy of curses.

"There are five grades and two semi-grades. Grade 4 - A wooden bat is enough. Grade 3 - If you have a handgun, you can rest easy. Grade 2 - Close call with a shotgun. Grade 1 -Even a tank might be insufficient. Special Grade - Cluster bombs might work. Then Semi-grade 2 and Semi-grade 1."

Hearing the new information, Yuji blinked. Sukuna care to tell me about this one?

[What is there to tell? You never asked me, so I never bothered to tell you.]

Fuck you!

Kiyotaka, noticing Yuji's reaction, continued with a more serious tone, "Special-grade curses are on a whole different level. Their power transcends conventional means of dealing with curses. Cluster bombs are just a metaphor for the level of force and strategy needed to handle them. It's not a task for the faint-hearted."

"Normally, a Jujutsu Sorcerer will face the curse of a similar grade. Today, Gojo would be called in today but he is on a business trip."

"And one more thing, do not engage when facing special grade curses, the options are run or die. Listen to your fears, your mission is to search and rescue any survivors and nothing more."

After Kiyotaka lowered the curtain, Yuji, Megumi and Nobara entered the Detention Center Building.

Before entering, Megumi summoned his shikigami; {Divine Dogs}

"If the curses get close, it will let us know. So, are you guys ready?"

"Let's do it." Yuji and Nobara

As the trio entered the building, what awaited them was not what they expected.

"Well, what is happening here? As I remember, we entered a perfectly fine, two-story building, not something like this." Yuji said as he observed the surroundings.

The building was damaged beyond recognition, the electrical wires and tube were broken and spark can be seen.

"It's a maisonette," Nobara said.

"Wrong, this is a domain expansion due to cursed energy. But I've never seen one this big." Megumi said.

Domine expansion. So this is what Sukuna said about {Dimensional Severance}.

"We have to quickly find the survivors and leave this..." Megumi couldn't finish his sentence as Nobara interrupted him.

"Megumi, the door we came just closed."

As the door sealed shut, a chilling realization swept. The once-open exit was now replaced by an ominous barrier, trapping them within the expansive cursed energy domain.

Megumi's eyes narrowed as he scanned their surroundings. "This is a trap. The curses must have set up this domain to isolate us. Locate the survivors and my shikigami can find a way out."

As they ventured deeper into the damaged facility, the twisted energy within the domain played tricks on their senses. Strange whispers echoed in the air, and distorted shadows seemed to dance in the corners of their vision.

Nobara clenched her fists. "This is getting on my nerves. Let's hurry up and deal with these curses so we can get out of this creepy place."

Just as they turned a corner, they saw a bunch of corpses lying down, from the look of it they were killed cruelly.

"That's brutal, are these three really people," Nobara whispered.

Look like whatever we dealing with, love to play with life.

Just then, a horde of curses manifested their fleshless forms emerging from the darkness. It was clear that the curses within this domain were not ordinary. Seeing the curses, which looked more like skeletons than anything, thriving on the energy that Yuji had seen and used, only one thought came to his mind.

Undead!! The Damned Ones.
