Capítulo 3: Is it wrong to be in debt?

Adam's POV:

As I looked through my status, I thought it looked fine. I wasn't necessarily surprised, just relieved it wasn't anything bad. The [Divine Body] skills explain why I feel stronger than my previous state. However, I knew this feeling wouldn't last much longer, I'm not sure how and when the feeling of my energy overflowing my soul would take over. But I think I should be fine now because of this skill.

This skill also reminds me of Bell's Liaris Freese skill, which allows him to grow stronger. The only difference is that I don't have to be in love for it to work. For me, it seems to only depend on the experience points I get by fighting monsters. This skill is quite strong, it even boosts my physical aptitude and healing process, which is beneficial for me, especially if I get injured in the dungeon.

I looked at the other skill, [Eyes of the Lord]. I was hoping I would be able to get Adam's unique ability to mimic and reflect an opponent's attack. I remember when I was watching the episode where Adam and Zeus were fighting, Adam was simply copying his moves and sending them back to Zeus even stronger.

However, this skill seems to rely on my level. I wouldn't be able to mimic and reflect all attacks as of now. By basic attacks, I'm assuming it means punches, kicks, sword slashes, etc., which is still strong even at level 1.

The only reason Adam lost in his battle with Zeus was because he overheated his ability, which caused him to go blind. So, it's probably best I see the limit of this skill and not overdo it.

Regardless, I'm quite happy about my current status. I should be okay going into the dungeon and based on my skills, it won't take as long as normal adventurers to level up.

I nodded my head, "It's good."

"Good?! This is more than good, Adam! This is…perfect! Who knew that my first familia child would be this strong right off the bat? It's rare for people to have skills after being granted falna, even rarer to have two, and unheard of to have these unique skills! I really hit the jackpot this time! I really should go out and bring home more people from the streets!"

I laughed, "Well, I doubt you'll find another like me." Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, Bell isn't here, meaning I'm a couple of months earlier than when the story begins, not that it matters to me.

"Wait, Adam. You can't tell anybody about this, if they were to find out about your skills, it wouldn't be long till they snatch you. Especially Freya! Please please please avoid her at all costs, I don't want to lose you!" Hestia grabbed my hand and stared me deeply into my eyes.

I couldn't help but smile, "There's no need to worry, you won't lose me that easily. As for hiding my skills… I'll try my best to hide them, but I can't promise."

"That's okay, in any case, people won't find out about your first skill unless you tell them about it."

"You're right but they'll know that something is up when they see how fast I'm getting stronger."

"Hmm, true but until then, you should probably be okay. It's best to not get too much attention…but given how you look, I doubt that would work," she said as she blushed again.

I smirked and patted her head, "Don't worry too much, Hestia. Whatever happens, we'll figure it out together." Hestia smiled tenderly as she hugged me again. "I'm going to register at the guild tomorrow, and then head to the dungeon after that," and just as I said this, she jumped in surprised.

"Already?! Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"Yes, I have to get stronger," I said, my tone getting serious. Hestia must've noticed that and sighed.

"Okay, Adam, but please be careful. It hasn't been more than an hour since you barely could walk. Don't go too far into the dungeon and if you feel like it's too much to bear, please come back home," Hestia said with worried eyes. My eyes softened, we just met, and she already cares for me.

"I truly am lucky," I muttered, hugging her back.

"W-w-what, Adam?!"

The next day

As morning came, I woke up to see Hestia sleeping while hugging me tightly. I poked her cheek trying to wake her up but it did nothing.

"Hestia, I'm about to head to the guild," I said as I started to move, and after hearing me, she abruptly opened her eyes only to be hit by a sun glare.

"Ahh! My eyes!"

I shook my head and chuckled. She finally let go of me as she covered her eyes with her hands. I took this chance to get out of the bed.

"W-wait! Let me make you some breakfast before you go!" Hestia said while squinting.

"Sure, in the meantime I'll take a bath." I couldn't go out smelling bad after all, but I don't think it even matters, to be honest. I'll still smell bad after coming back from the dungeon because I'd have monster blood on me. But, I always like to start my day with a bath.

As soon as I finished my bath and changed into new clothes, I went to the kitchen and saw food on the table already. "Thank you for the meal, Hestia."

Hestia nodded her head and with a bright smile, she said "You're welcome!"

After I finished my breakfast, I headed out of the church and made my way towards the guild. However, it took a bit of time to find it because, I've never been there, and I had to ask someone where it was, and they happily told me the directions and even offered me to lead me there, to which I accepted of course.

"That's the guild, I'm assuming you'll be putting your name in the god registry?" A woman who looked to be in her twenties spoke. Her eyes looked as if she was going to devour me if I let my guard down.

In fact, on my way here, everyone was looking at me with either curiosity, lust, admiration, or all of them together! Now I know how handsome men feel. Indeed, it can be a bit bothersome.

The lady's question was interesting though, do I really look like a god?

"No, I'm not a god, I'm a human. Thank you for showing me where the guild is, have a nice day," I said, leaving her speechless as well as those who were near enough to hear.

I entered the guild, ignoring the obvious stares, and looked for the nearest receptionist there. I found a woman who had shoulder-length brown hair and emerald-green eyes, I also noticed that her ears were quite long. I immediately knew who she was, Eina Tulle.

As I approached her, she looked at me with interest. "How can I help you?" Her voice held professionalism.

"I'd like to register as an adventurer please," I said with a smile, which made her blush slightly.

She cleared her throat and responded, "Of course, are you in a familia? As you know, only people who've joined a familia can enter a dungeon for safety reasons."

"I'm aware and yes, I'm part of Hestia's familia."

Eina's eyebrow rose for a bit, she looked surprised. "I see, she finally was able to recruit someone to her familia. Okay, can I have your name?"

"Adam," I didn't include a last name because now that I'm here, my old last name doesn't matter. Besides, it was a randomized last name, so it held no significance to me.

"Alright, Adam. You're officially registered. Since this is your first time here, if you have any questions or need advice, you can request an advisor. Would you like to do that?"

An advisor? That would be good to have, there's not much I know about this world besides what I've seen in the show, and having an advisor helping me would be ideal for me.

"Yes, please," I said, nodding my head. Eina Tulle formed a small smile on her face.

"Okay then, if that's the case, I can be your advisor. As your advisor, we can always talk in a private room…. which seeing as how most people are staring at you would be a good idea. Follow me," she said before leading me to a room. I have to admit, I now know why Bell thought of Eina considerably. She's genuinely cool-headed and thoughtful.

"There, much quieter and more privacy. Please, you're more than welcome to ask any questions," she said as she sat down across from me.

"Well, I'm planning on going to the dungeon after this, and I needed some armor and a weapon, do you know where I can find them?"

"It's good you're thinking about wearing protective gear first before heading in,," she said. Well… I probably was already going to do that if I didn't find any armor, but I wasn't going to tell her that.

"I understand that Hestia isn't exactly in a good spot financially and I'm assuming you aren't either, but the guild can lend you a dagger and armor, although I can't say it's of high quality. But it should work fine in the lower flowers.

The interest would 8%, as the total cost of the dagger and the armor would be about 8,600 valis, which means that if you make monthly payments 190 valis for 5 years, you would be essentially paying about 11, 458 valis. Also, if it somehow breaks or gets lost, you're still responsible for paying that amount."

Gulp! It's okay, it's not that much…besides I'm sure I can pay all of that soon enough!

"Thank you for the information, and I'd like to do that," as soon as I said this, she smiled.

"Great! I'll get the paperwork ready and bring the armor and dagger, just wait right here."

"Okay."

I guess I'm in debt now…
