Capítulo 6: Chapter 6- First Phase of Exam
Soon, a bell rang and the door opened to reveal a dark tunnel. A tall man with mustache came out of the tunnel.
"I apologize for the delay. Thank you for waiting. The entry period for hunter applicants is now officially closed. So, without further ado, hunter's exam will now begin!"
Then, the examiner warned the applicants about the risks and that ones who want to withdraw can leave by taking the elevator. Sure enough, Tonpa had to leave because he wasn't in condition to even stand now.
Sachiko looked at how fast her cursed energy got replenished and took a note to mess with more people.
After Tonpa left, the examiner asked the rest of the applicants to follow him.
"Tonpa san got really rough." Gon said.
"No one asked him to put laxatives in drinks and then give them to rookies. He got a taste of his own medicine." Sachiko shrugged.
"I agree. He deserves it." Kurapika agreed.
"Yeah, just by thinking we could've drunk that can and ended up like that makes me feel angry." Leorio said.
They walked quietly for a while after this before the participants in front of them started running.
"I think people in front started running." Gon said.
"It's because the examiner started picking up the pace." Kurapika said.
The examiner started to introduce himself, "How rude of me, I neglected to introduce myself. I am Satotz, your examiner for the first phase of the exam. It's my responsibility to lead you all to the second phase of the exam."
"Second phase? What happened to the first?" The ninja applicant asked.
"It has already begun. The first phase is actually easy. You just have to follow me to the second phase. So, try to keep up."
Satotz said as he picked up the pace.
At this point, Sachiko started reinforcing her legs with cursed energy so that she could pick up the pace without straining her legs.
"Follow you? There's nothing else?" The ninja asked again.
"Yes, however I cannot tell you where or when you arrive. You just need to follow me." Satotz replied.
Kurapika thought about how this is an endurance test as this is both physically and mentally taxing.
Sachiko was doing pretty well, using cursed energy to reinforce her legs didn't use up much energy. She could replenish them when participants started to drop out and feel despair so she didn't worry about running out of cursed energy.
Two hours later, Sachiko was still running effortlessly while more and more participants started to drop out.
"Hey, kid, show the exam some respect! Don't you know you can't ride a skateboard?!" Leorio said to a white-haired kid who was on a skateboard.
"Huh, is that so?" Killua asked.
"Of course not!" Gon shouted. "Satotz san just asked us to follow him."
"That's right." Sachiko nodded.
Killua stopped his tracks and waited until Gon caught up and asked, "How old are you?"
"I'm twelve!" Gon replied.
"Oh, you're the same age as me." Killua said.
"No way!" Gon said, amazed. "I'm Gon!"
"Killua." Killua said as he flipped his skateboard. "Well, I guess I will be walking for a while".
Just when he was about to hold his skateboard, Killua found that his skateboard had been stolen. Sachiko took the skateboard and started using it.
"Hey! That's mine." Killua said.
"I will take that for a while, kiddo." Sachiko said.
"No, you won't." Killua replied.
"Oh, I will. Bye. Have fun chatting with my brother tho." Sachiko said before riding the skateboard to the front. "This is so much fun!"
Killua raised his eyebrows and asked Gon, "Is she your sister? You don't look alike."
"It's because she's not my sister. Sbe's just messing with you." Gon explained, "We met at my island tho. She said she got on the wrong boat and ended up there."
"So, strangers?"
"Yeah." Gon nodded. "Speaking of that, I think you two look alike."
"Me? and her?" Killua asked.
"Yeah, maybe because of the white-hair?" Gon said.
"Maybe." Killua said quietly.

After running for unknown amount of time, they got to the stairs. Sachiko stopped the skateboard and started running again. She glanced at the other participants near her because she got bored. But, no one looked interesting.
"Hey, give me my skateboard!" Killua who finally caught up with her demanded to give his skateboard back.
"Alright , alright. I was just borrowing it for a while." Sachiko said before throwing the skateboard at him.
Killua caught it and then said to Gon , "Gon, let's have a race. Whoever got to the destination first will win. Loser has to buy a dinner."
"Deal!" Gon said immediately.
"Hey, can I join too? I love free food." Sachiko said.
"No, you can't." Killua said.
"Well, sucks I'm not listening to you." Sachiko stuck her tongue out.
"Nakamura san, can you be the referee? What about the loser will buy you dinner?" Gon said.
"Sounds good. Either way, one if you're going to buy me dinner, right?"
"That's right", Gon said , "Right, Killua?"
"Fine."
"okay then." Sachiko nodded, "On 5, 1- 3- 2- 5"
Killua started running as soon as he heard 5. Gon was confused but started running as soon as Killua started to do so.
Finally, Gon and Killua got outside of the tunnel simultaneously.
"I won!" Gon said.
"No, I won", Killua said.
"No, I did!" Sachiko said, appearing from the front.
"When..when did you get here?" Gon asked.
"Before Satotz san! I figured this is where Satotz san would stop so I decided to sut here for a while. I had to run really fast to catch a break here." Sachiko said dramatically, she would even put a sound effect if she could.
"You weren't supposed to win. You are the referee!" Gon said.
"But, technically none of you won. So, you two have to buy me dinner. Twice." Sachiko said happily.
"But we both won." Killua said.
"But one of you have to lose if one of you win, isn't it so? So, technically, you are both winners and losers!" Sachiko announced.
"But, who decides that? It doesn't even make sense." Killua argued.
"I decide, of course. Didn't you say I am referee?" Sachiko told them.
"But, that is not fair!" Gon whined.
"Sucks that life isn't fair." Sachiko said, nodding her head. "I get two free dinners tho. Today's a nice day!" She hummed.
Satotz looked at the chaos in front of him and couldn't find words to say.
Soon after that, othr participants started to arrive one after another, catching their breath.
"Is this our destination?" Kurapika asked as soon as he got there.
"Kurapika!" Gon waved while walking to him.
"Not yet, we have quite a way to go." Satotz answered to Kurapika's question.
"Oh, man." Gon groaned.
Sachiko quickly checked her status window. If she remembered correctly, the second part of the first phase was going to be dangerous. She might need to use her cursed energy to defend herself against the monsters lurking in the swamp.

'Okay, I still have 800 units. Not bad.' Sachiko thought.
While Sachiko was checking her stats, Satotz announced that they would be continuing their way into the swamp and everyone should be careful to not be deceived.
"If we know they will try to deceive us, who 's gonna fall for it?" Leorio scoffed.
At that moment, a man shouted, "Don't be deceived! Don't let him fool you!" He pointed to Satotz and said, "That man is lying to you. He's an imposter. A fraud! I am the real examiner, you got it?"
"Imposter? What's going on here ?" Leorio said, puzzled.
That had stirred the pot and now, everything was on the verge of chaos.
Sachiko eyed Hisoka who smirked upon meeting her eyes. Several cards appeared in Hisoka's hands and Sachiko knew what he was going to do.
Sachiko created a small dagger and then shot it towards the man who claimed to be real examiner's chest.
Seeing Sachiko who made a move first, Hisoka frowned and sent his cards towards Satotz.
Satotz caught the cards effortlessly while the man fell onto the ground, dropping dead.
'Imposter examiner is killed. Host received a random reward. Do you want to open it?'
'Yes.'
'Reward opened. Host receives 30 hunter points. Hunter points feature added to status window.'
'What can I get with hunter points?'
'You can buy from hunters shop in system window after upgrade.'
'Alright. ' Sachiko decided to leave that for now.
Hisoka looked at the scene unfold in front of him.
"I see, that settles then. You're the real examiner." He grinned. "Although I must say you have the guts to steal the show." His cold eyes stared at Sachiko.
"I just felt the need to join in the fun! No need to get so angry." Sachiko said.
"What's your name?" Hisoka asked.
"Nakamura Sachiko. Nakamura is my surname."
"I see", Hisoka said.
Meanwhile, the applicants were confused. They were starting to think Satotz was the imposter but with Hisoka and Sachiko's action, they realized Satotz was the real examiner.
"The examiners are hunters, each handpicked by the exam committee to do this job without pay. Anyone who's holding the title. We are vying for ourselves could've stopped that attack. And you did so effortlessly." Hisoka said.
"I shall take that as a compliment, thank you. But should you ever choose to attack me again, for whatever reason, I will have no choice but to report you for attacking an examiner, and have you immediately disqualified." Satotz told Hisoka.
"That includes you too Nakamura Sachiko." Satotz warned.
"But I attacked the imposter. And I didn't do so because I wanted to know who the real examiner is. I already knew you are the real examiner from the start." Sachiko said, upset that she got a warning. Hisoka was the one who attacked him, not her. So, why did he give her warning?
"Of course." Hisoka replied to Satotz, smirking at Sachiko.
Sachiko nearly put up a middle finger to Hisoka. But, no, she wouldn't do that yet. Not until she learn how to use reverse cursed technique. She still love the idea of all her body parts attached to her body, thank you very much.
