Davy swept his gaze around the crowded and noisy marketplace, his curious and interesting eyes wandering around. The crowds were endless, and the loud noises kept the atmosphere as lively as ever. He stretched his neck and lifted his gaze to look around more as if he had only seen different people in so many years.
However, this was his first time seeing so many people again, aside from the three he was always with. He'd been in the virtual world for a week and had only stepped foot in the Chaos Palace, which is far too quiet; he'd never met anyone there, giving him the impression that it was supposed to be that way. And seeing so many NPCs at once takes him by surprise.
"Do you like it?" a deep, calm voice asked, reawakening his senses and reminding him of who he was with. A hand reached out and gently adjusted the cloak that was covering him. Davy turned to face him and was met by a pair of calm blue eyes.
The only difference now was that his appearance was not what Davy was used to; gone was his striking and perfect appearance, and in its place was a normal and almost forgettable one. His intimidating aura, however, remained in his calm and stable demeanor. Fallan had the ability to make his heart skip a beat simply by staring at him.
Davy nodded, smiled sincerely, raised his hand, and touched his cloak, "Yes, I really like it," he said, his smile reaching his eyes. He truly felt this way. He now only appreciates how refreshing it was to see the outside world or to occasionally wander around and relax the mind by discovering new and unfamiliar things.
"This one, it looks cool. But it was too expensive, I saw it in Maraya and it was only two copper coins, now it's fucking 20 gold coins here? Man, that's robbery." Fallan and Davy's silent and precious staring moment was cut short by a loud voice, a tone Davy was extremely familiar with at this point. He restrained himself from rolling his eyes.
"Maraya is too far away from here, so that price is reasonable," a gentle voice said next, completely incomparable to the previous loud voice.
They both turned to look at the two people who were looking at the display items and standing close to each other. Their features, like his and Fallan's, were concealed by disguise. Even so, Davy could tell them apart at a glance.
Their personalities are exactly opposite each other. One thing he noticed during these days was how well Draven and Lyle got along. Scenes like the one in front of him were common. They also frequently made sarcastic jokes with each other, which Davy thought would lead to a fight, but he eventually learned to ignore it.
Davy turned his gaze to Fallan this time, seeing the two of them busy looking at the items on the table. Fallan, like him, was watching the two; he appears calm as if the two's antics caused no ripples in him. However, during the few days he spent with them all, Davy discovered that this was not the case. Like now, his calm expression was devoid of any hint of displeasure. Instead, Fallan watched them with a fond expression on his face.
Davy turned and looked at the two; he was standing close to Fallan. His mind and heart appear at ease and content as if having them were the only thing that mattered in the world. He couldn't tell if it was his own emotion or that of his character. Davy wasn't sure what was the answer. But for the time being, he would simply enjoy and concentrate on the present. Whatever the future had in store for him, he would face it when the time came.
His face glowed as if a burden had been lifted, and he accepted everything. His smile spreads to his eyes, and his aura brightens. He approached the two and looked at the items with interest as well. They both paused and made way for him. As he raised his gaze, a hand clung to his arms, and the soft yet enchanting emerald eyes met his.
Davy couldn't help but smile as he realized how clingy Lyle was to him these days. He would hug and hold on to him whenever he could. Lyle was simply... too cute. Just like a puppy.
He had been surrounded by the three for less than a minute. As a result, they were separated from the rest of the crowd. The flow of people did not appear to see a large space as if a barrier had been placed between them and the crowd. He forced himself not to laugh as he smiled, they look like his bodyguards, well, handsome and perfect bodyguards.
Davy wasn't new to this market; in previous VR games, he had seen this type of location, which was a common occurrence for him. Many NPCs wore long robes, while others, such as Draven, wore daring suits with armor. It was not a new sight, but it still excites him. They looked so lively, and they also looked so real...
He shook his head slightly and concentrated on the items on display. He leaned in close to Lyle as he inspected the items, which the man gratefully accepted. The items appear interesting, but not to the extent that would amaze him. In fact, after seeing the artworks and various exotic items from the dining hall and those shown to him by Draven, Davy's standards for artworks or simply specialty items had become extremely high. Perhaps this character's innate natural ability to discover rare items was also transferred to him. Like a passive ability? Davy would never know because he lacked a game interface.
He hadn't summoned or communicated with the system since that one time in the library. One was that he wasn't as desperate for information and he couldn't trust the system as much anymore, and the other was that he was always with the three or one of them.
Lyle, in particular, was adorable, and even the way he clung to him wasn't malicious at all. He could tell it was just his personality, and he did it a lot. He--his character seemed to be used to it as well; Davy never flinched when he softly held onto or cuddled him. While Draven was still annoying, he was never truly annoyed with him; at best, he ignored him. In fact, Draven was entertaining to be around, especially when he tells Davy stories about his adventures.
A hand passed by his sight and grabbed something, it was a small gem that glittered when the lights shined on it. Davy's golden-colored pupils flitted, and he turned his gaze to the always nonchalant and composed Fallan by his side. His blue eyes were focused and locked on the small gem in his hand.
"What is that?" a loud voice asked, and Davy turned to look in that direction. He saw Draven approach Fallan and even look closely at the small gem in Fallan's hand, his head almost covering the gem from Fallan's view.
Davy looks at Fallan almost immediately to gauge his reaction to Draven's actions. Fallan didn't seem bothered and let Draven inspect the gem closely, their bodies pressing against each other. They didn't seem to mind, as if it were nothing new.
Davy's eyes flashed, and a wave of understanding washed over him. Davy knew the three of them got along great these days because he was with them almost all day. He had always assumed that, while the Supremes were not that friendly to each other, they were not the type of people who would constantly argue, even if they were civil because of him.
He had that misconception because it was common sense: three rulers with different personalities in one room were equivalent to three lions in one jungle. They'd have to fight for dominance, right? This was also the reason they previously fought wars against each other.
"It's a small fragment of a universe core," Fallan's deep and calm voice filled Draven's curiosity.
"Oh? Yeah, I feel it now; you're more perceptive than I am with these things, anyway," Draven responded, raising his head to look at Fallan.
Their faces were so close, then Fallan shook his head and set the small gem down as he calmly lectured Draven, resulting in the latter smiling sheepishly, Draven caught Davy's eyes and winked.
Then he pouted at Fallan and embraced him, whispering something Davy couldn't hear. Fallan shook his head helplessly, paused, raised his hand, and petted Draven's head. He obviously tolerated Draven's coquettish behavior.
Davy's heart skips a beat. Damn, he knew Draven was always obedient in front of Fallan, but he didn't expect it to be this extreme. "They... They seem so close?" he couldn't help but whisper, he hadn't realized he'd just blurted it out. Because this scene really shocked him.
"The two of them?" a soft voice near his ear asked, indicating Lyle, who was still clinging to him.
Davy nodded without looking back, instead focusing on the two, taking in this new information. "Draven seems so tame in front of Fallan?"
Lyle hummed, and he responded softly, his tone still gentle. "Of course, or else Fallan would punish him until he couldn't walk the next day, so he rarely misbehaves in front of Fallan," he says casually, as though the information was assumed to be common knowledge.
His brow furrowed at this. He could understand the words but not comprehend them. Did he become dumb or something? Why did he think there was something seriously wrong with that statement?
He averted his gaze from the two and lifted his head to look at Lyle, his face so innocent and pretty. "What kind of punishment? Like... a fight or something?" he asked, slightly trembling.
Hearing this question, Lyle met his gaze as well, with a slight chuckle as if remembering something funny, "Yeah... kind of like that, a fight in bed to be exact," he laughed so hard his eyes disappeared, "Fallan would fuck him real hard so he won't see daylight the next day," Lyle said it so naturally as if what he said didn't make a certain someone explode his mind.
Davy gaped, his jaw dropping as he looked at the two in front of him, his neck hurt as he did so. As Draven inspected the items again, Fallan said something to him every now and then, the two had already separated. He couldn't help but imagine. What the fuck, he needed time to process this. He had to admit that his knowledge was still insufficient. Davy shifted his weight closer to Lyle, his knowledge turned upside down.
Ahem, HAHAHA.
FallanxDraven LOL.
