OOOM!
Cassius felt himself become several leagues stronger than he had been just moments ago, prompting an inexplicable smirk to emerge on his face. Contrary to the last time the Tyrant God raced toward his location, he could now trace its advance with far more ease.
Of course, that didn't mean the threat of death had lessened any. He would still die the moment the horrifying monster girl arrived.
"Well…" Cassius shrugged. "If we were destined to do battle either way, then that is how it shall be. Dancing with death can be considered excellent character development. Yep, yep."
Wasting no more time on nonsense, he swiped up his system interface and flashed a satisfied smile upon seeing how much AP he had stored up. Yet, in that same moment, his right pointer finger moved like a blur of lightning; he spammed the hell out of none other than the Agility up-arrow!
*DING, DING, DING!*
Cassius rubbed his finger against the system interface so fast that he was afraid fire would spark up and burn him to a crisp. From the 700 range, it quickly ascended the number bracket, breaching past 800, then 900.
And without respite, it broke through the 1000 barrier!
Yet that was far from the end of things, as 1100 was shattered, swiftly followed by 1200! And then it finally settled down around 1230!
Compared to his other seemingly lackluster stats, his Agility stat shone like a dazzling sun in a land littered with dark spots. His physical prospects reflected this to an intense degree, as his skin crackled with a level of forward motion that made him feel like his atoms were ready to jump out of him and zip ahead at the speed of light.
Cassius had no real idea how fast he had become, but he instinctively knew that if he beckoned his feet forward, he would reach speeds that transcended what a feeble mortal mind could comprehend. Just one step and he would no longer be at this point on the timeline; just one step and he might accidentally splat himself against a molten sand mountain.
"My Agility isn't just limited to 1230, as the effects transferred from I AM SPEED have once again been improved," mused Cassius, his irises zapping with sparks of lightning. "With the boost now at 600%, my true speed likely resides somewhere around the 1400 mark…?"
Leaning off the weighted stat system remark, the gap between 1230 and 1400 was comparable to that of a koi suddenly leaping up in an attempt to transform into a dragon. Simply put, the two values weren't anywhere close to one another.
Cassius looked ahead, quickly grasping the fact that his ability to register certain frame rates had also improved thanks to his Agility stat.
Normally, it would require improvements in the Perception stat to have his eyes keep up with his movements. However, it seemed that he received a special bonus for exceeding the 1000 Agility point milestone.
Now, he was able to clearly see the speedily moving golden-flamed blur bursting his way at incredibly lethal speeds. If this were an evil superhero show, the regal Tyrant God probably would've exploded through a few people without a single care present in her apathetic gaze.
Cassius could feel the Almighty existence's fury from dozens of miles away, with him being able to more vividly sense the rage bubbling up within the four Tyrant Kings trailing far behind her. The remaining Sand Devourers were even more enraged, as it seemed the level of anger they experienced over this matter scaled in relation to where they stood on the power hierarchy.
Any sane person would feel a great sense of unease at the grand lineup of colossal monsters barreling in their direction, yet Cassius only felt a large surge of thrill that had eluded him as of late.
Even while fighting the first Tyrant King, he hadn't experienced this kind of excitement. It was reinvigorating!
"Ha…" Cassius released a cold breath of air, then bent into a low sword stance, similar to how he had posed while fighting the Tyrant King. "I already know the same attack won't work on someone as mighty as you," he coldly spoke, with the Tyrant God seemingly understanding his intent even from so far away. "However, if one doesn't work…"
WAAA!!!
"Then how about I send out a hundred of them!?"
The atmosphere surrounding Cassius buckled under the suffocating pressure emanating from his stalwart figure as his skin pores volcanically combusted!
He was attempting something completely and unquestionably crazy—something that could very well quench his life force and send him into the afterlife. Yet he still unhesitatingly performed it with a wide grin plastered across his enchantingly handsome face.
"One I….!!!" he began, his voice exploding like thunder. "Two… AM….!!!!!"
RUMBLE!!!
Everything for dozens of miles was crushed by this overpowering pressure, with the earth caving in layers.
From one side of the deserted wastelands to the next, all of it felt sheer, raw Atomic power—something far beyond even what this world had experienced before it faced its world-ending Apocalyptic Event. And such a level of power was being orchestrated by a single man—a single insane man who wanted to defy the odds!
"!???"
The Tyrant God felt something ominous crawl throughout her body. Her pretty reptilian eyes blinked repeatedly; she realized she had to move faster. Something in the very core of her being was urging her to accelerate! To keep on accelerating until she had no gas left to give!
And so she did.
*Whoooop!!!*
The Tyrant God burst forth with all-new levels of speed, achieving a hyper-movement state verging upon instantaneous teleportation. In mere milliseconds, she had already materialized above the human enveloped in purple runic lines. She emotionlessly blink-stepped in front of him, her snow-white scaled claws clasped onto his roguish face.
Yet, just as Cassius was about to have his head ripped off in one clean strike, an amused smirk crept up his facial features.
He then soundlessly moved his lips, with an archaic, distorted voice escaping only a moment later.
