Clementine was having a good night. She found a group of three weaklings that made the most lovely screams. The way her victim's cry for help or mercy makes her vibrate in excitement. It's a feeling that will never get old no matter how long passes.
It was a problem for everyone else. She couldn't wait for orders from the cardinals, so she went and created her own fun. Now she's robbed a Miko Princess, taking the crown of wisdom and joining the secret society Zurrernorn. It was a good life in E-Rantel, easy prey, strong cult and far away from anyone stronger than her.
"Is this the one?" a voice rang out behind her. It was melodic, one of the most enchanting voices she had ever heard. She wanted to hear it scream.
The woman behind her was beautiful, tall, had long blonde hair flowing down her back, green eyes that made Clementine shiver when she met them. She wore a white dress that reached her thighs and sandals. She looks more ready for a beach than the city.
Next to her stood a maid with a weirdly armoured uniform, wearing green gauntlets. She had her hair done up in a bun and glasses. She wanted that pretty face mangled.
"I believe this is the one, yes." The maid said, and the Blonde looked at her with a terrifying smile.
"Alright, I heard enough," Clementine said, crouching down, using the power in her legs to launch her towards her opponents at speeds most would fall before. In her hands lie her trusted stilettos, she had the mind control one in her hand ready to strike the blonde woman.
Using the blonde to kill the maid will be the highlight of her week. Would the maid fight back? Would the blonde cry about her dead maid? How much despair could she cause tonight?
All her thoughts came to a crashing halt when the blonde woman caught her stiletto, snapping it with a simple flick of her wrist. Clementine immediately jumped back, bringing out her fire and lighting stilettos, holding them in front of her defensively.
The maid rushed her. Clementine tried to fight back, but the damn maid crouched down faster than humanly possible and delivered a blow to Clementine's stomach, sending shockwaves throughout her body, making her collapse in front of them.
How? Why? She made sure that there was no one stronger than her. Why are these two freaks here? Who are they?
The two women stood over Clementine, looking down on her, and that's when she passed out.
Pandora's Actress was walking calmly down the road of the capital after her business in E-Rantel, she had to get to the capital quickly. Ainz Ooal Gown needed money from the New World if it was to operate in the New World.
And the best way to do that is to start a business.
But she needed starting capital, they've been using doppelgangers to go in shops and sell gold coins, the value lost from doing that still hurts, but she needed to look like a mysterious high class noble, in order to better cater to them, which means she needed to stay in the respectable hotels for nobels.
She could start slow, not do the noble stuff and build her way up, but Pandora doesn't operate like that! There's no flare, no excitement, no gravitas for her. Pandora wanted something big and exciting and to do that, she needed a lot of gold.
Which is precisely why getting to the capital in time was so important. Pandora was already building her image. She put her hair into ringlets, wore a dark red fancy cocktail dress and was holding a black fan with a red trim over her face.
The other nobles were looking at her, everyone stopping to stare and whisper. She's already got attention, now for the big show.
Walking into the auction house, she effortlessly drew everyone's gaze, exactly how she likes it. After all, what's the point of a performance if the audience doesn't pay attention?
There were many people here. It was one of the biggest auctions in the Re-Estize Kingdom. All the nobles, merchants and even top class adventures came. Walking up to the desk, Yuri walked ahead of her, making the receptionist look up at Yuri, who was holding a rectangular looking tablet.
"My lady would like to auction an item. We expect nothing less than for it to be the centrepiece of the auction." Yuri said firmly, laughter and jeers spread across the auction house. Everyone was looking at the two women judgingly. Whispers started as everyone looked at them with a smirk on their faces.
"Errm, haha, Can I ask what the item does?" The receptionist asked, troubled. Yuri nodded and unwrapped the tablet, showing a beautiful golden glow. The tablet depicted a woman praying to the sky and the clouds parting, shining a light onto a man with a spear through the chest.
"This is a Resurrection Tablet. It will revive anyone it's used on in peak condition" The laughter stopped, the stares went from judging to shock before quickly turning to greed. The receptionist looked at one of the staff who ran into the backroom.
Everyone waited in silence. A loud shout came from the backroom. Barreling out the door, a well dressed balding man quickly rushed to the receptionist's side and looked at the tablet. He leaned over the desk, his face inches away from the object, his eyes open wide, before he pulled back slowly. Looking around the room, he composed himself, taking a deep breath.
"It's true" he didn't say it loud, yet everyone in the room heard it. The whispering started again, attendants running out of the auction house, people shaking hands and arguing.
"Ahem, My Lady, if I may be so bold to ask your name. Oh, how rude of me. I'm Richard Boulvard, the owner of this fine establishment." The bald man said, giving a small bow to Pandora.
"You may call me Lady Pandora." Pandora said calmly, holding her fan over the lower half of her face, yet her piercing stare sent shivering down Richard's spine.
"Thank you, Lady Pandora, please if you follow me, I'll prepare an exclusive V.I.P room for you." He led them from the crowds of the main room up flights of stairs to a corridor with polished wooden walls and a red carpet with gold stripes on either side. The doors were far apart, each with a golden number on it.
Richard grabbed one staff walking by and whispered in his ear, making the man nod before rushing off. Richard led them to a room with the number six on it. The interior of the room was spacious, with multiple cushioned couches and chairs spread around. There was a table in the middle, with fruits and other snacks, along with a fresh pot of tea poured into a waiting teacup.
They walked into the room, looking around. The wall in front of them was glass, letting them see the auction floor. There were holes on either side of the glass, for nobles or servants to shout from, it's probably expected for anyone using these rooms to have someone to speak for them.
A woman entered the room. She was in a uniform of the auction house, a sharp suit jacket, a pencil skirt and a hat. She looked average, nothing special about her. Pandora mused, guess the auction house provides a speaker as well.
"This is Dara. She'll be your attendant for this event. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get going. There's still lots to do." Richard said with a good-natured laugh at the end, getting a nod from Pandora before leaving. Turning towards Dara, she gave her a stare that made the girl uncomfortable, yet she remained professional.
"My name is Dara, I'll be here to help you with anything. Do you want me in the room with you or waiting outside?"
"Outside please," Yuri replied, getting a smile from the girl.
"Of course, just knock on the door and I'll be right there."
She left, closing the door behind her. Pandora waved her hand theatrically, casting detection spells and putting up anti-scrying protection.
"We're safe, Yuri. so, how much do you think it will sell for?" Pandora found it amusing. The Resurrection Tablet was one of many that Momonga had. They were a rare early game item that could revive at no cost. Of course, once you got to 7th tier, spells could do this and at late game resurrection items came with some buffs like temporary damage boosts.
Momonga just kept a bunch of them in his inventory and dumped them in the treasury after a while, since the value they had to him in the early game never faded. After telling him her plan, he seemed happy to give up a Resurrection Tablet.
News of the Resurrection Tablet spread like wildfire, Nobles and merchants were gathering money, adventurers and commoners were coming to see the item. Everyone was excited to get their hands on it. The capital was a buzz and all the while the name Lady Pandora became known too many.
In Carne village, Momonga gave Enri a kiss goodbye. Drying her tears, he walked away, already promising to see her again.
Walking to the village square, he could see Gazef looking over his warriors.
"Are they well?" Momonga asked, receiving a nod from Gazef, who looked at his warriors with pride."
"They'll be fine, we're well enough to ride now we'll get proper treatment at E-Rantel" he said as a warrior came to them with four horses mounting them. Gazef marched in front of his men and said.
"Warriors, I'm proud of you. Today we faced Slane with our heads held high and came out victorious! We slayed their angels and soon we'll slay that demon too!"
The warriors cheered, holding their swords up, imagining themselves standing over dead demons.
"Now, onwards to E-Rantel." Gazef said, his horse stomping off, everyone following behind him to go face a demon.
