Capítulo 45: The Unexpected Encounter
The corridors of Hogwarts were bathed in the soft glow of torchlight as (Y/N) made her way to her next class. Her mind was still consumed with thoughts of Draco and the unsettling jealousy that had gripped her during the previous lesson.
Lost in her thoughts, (Y/N) rounded a corner and collided with someone, nearly sending them both tumbling to the ground. As she stumbled backward, she looked up to see Draco Malfoy standing before her, his expression a mixture of surprise and amusement.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't (Y/N)," Draco remarked, his smirk firmly in place. "Fancy meeting you here."
(Y/N) bristled at Draco's casual tone, her irritation simmering just below the surface. "What do you want, Malfoy?" she snapped, her voice tinged with frustration.
Draco's smirk widened at (Y/N)'s sharp retort, but there was a glint of something else in his eyes—a hint of curiosity. "Just passing by," he replied casually, his gaze lingering on (Y/N) for a moment longer than necessary. "But it seems I've stumbled upon something far more interesting."
(Y/N) narrowed her eyes at Draco's cryptic remark, her curiosity piqued despite herself. "And what would that be?" she asked, her voice laced with skepticism.
Draco's smirk faltered for a moment, replaced by a look of genuine intrigue. "You," he replied simply, his eyes boring into (Y/N)'s with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. "There's something different about you today, (Y/N). Something... intriguing."
(Y/N) bristled at Draco's probing gaze, her defenses rising instinctively. "I don't know what you're talking about," she retorted, her voice tinged with defensiveness.
But Draco merely chuckled, undeterred by (Y/N)'s attempt to deflect his attention. "Oh, I think you do," he replied cryptically, a flicker of amusement dancing in his eyes. "But don't worry, (Y/N). Your secret's safe with me."
With that, Draco turned and disappeared down the corridor, leaving (Y/N) alone with her thoughts. And as she watched him go, a sense of unease settled in the pit of her stomach—a nagging feeling that Draco Malfoy was far more perceptive than she had ever given him credit for.
