"Hello," I said embarrassedly. I was not expecting Mom to have invited her friends there.
"Come in, Amanda, sit with us," Mom's best friend, Olivia, said. She's been Mom's best friend for the past 10 years. She is so arrogant and rich. I don't like her nature, but I didn't want to be rude to them.
I nodded and went inside.
"How are you, Amanda?" a lady with blond hair spoke. I didn't know her, maybe she is Mom's new friend.
"I am good, how are you?" I said, trying to smile at her.
"But you are not looking good, Amanda. Look at yourself, you are looking pale and dull. Are you still in shock from your dad's passing? Get rid of it," Olivia aunty said, making me look at her.
I knew she would say something like that.
"What are you doing nowadays?" the blond-haired aunty asked again.
"She is working from home," Mom replied to her with a smile.
"Good, then you should be busy," the aunty replied. I smiled at her.
"I have some work to do," I replied to her and went to my room. After taking a shower, I started working on my laptop.
When I got a call, I saw the caller ID; it was Jack's call. Jack is Jasmine's boyfriend. I met Jack through Jasmine; he is like my elder brother. He is a very kind-hearted person.
Jack's POV:
I was working in my office when my phone rang. I saw the caller ID; it was Jasmine.
"Yes, love," I replied to her while placing my pen on the table.
"Jack, I had invited Amanda to the party," she said. "She will come," Jasmine said excitedly.
"Really? I didn't believe it. I will ask her myself," I replied to her.
"Okay, then call her. You will believe after listening to her," Jasmine said before hanging up. After the call, I dialed Amanda's number.
She picked up the call after a few rings.
"Hello, Jack, how are you?" she asked.
"I am good, Amanda. I heard you will come to my party tomorrow, is that right? I wanted to hear it from you," I asked her.
"Yes, I was thinking about it too, since Jasmine and Lena insisted I come," she replied.
"You have to come, Amanda. Now, I am saying, okay? I promise you won't be bored," I assured her.
"Okay, I will be there. Now, happy?" she replied with a smile.
"Great, then. See you tomorrow. Take care," I replied and hung up the call.
After Amanda's call, I started working on my laptop. When a message popped up on my phone.
Amanda's POV:
The next day, I was having breakfast with Mom when Mom said, "Amanda, I am going for shopping. Do you want to come with me?" She asked while taking a sip of her coffee.
"No, Mom, I don't want to. I am going with Jasmine or Lena," I replied.
"Really? Good, then you should go and chill, okay?" Mom said with a smile.
I smiled back at her.
It was already evening, so I decided to get ready for the party. After showering, I wore a brown top with white jeans. After applying light makeup, I was ready to go. Lena would be there to pick me up. After some time, Lena arrived, and we went together to Jack's home.
Upon reaching, I saw Jasmine's car arriving at the same time. Jasmine came out from her car, and we met her. After that, the three of us went inside.
"Wow, Jack has amazing preparations as always," Lena said, looking at Jack's big house and the arrangements.
"Really, my rich boy," Jasmine said dramatically. Lena and I laughed at her.
We were walking when Jack came towards our direction with a bright smile.
"Good evening, ladies," Jack said while coming toward us.
"Good evening," we replied.
"Come inside," Jack said, walking towards his living room.
There, Jack's friends were already enjoying. We went to the couch and sat there.
"I will get something for us," Jasmine said.
We nodded, and she went outside.
Jasmine's POV:
I decided to get something for us, so I asked Amanda and Lena, and they nodded. I went outside.
As I was heading to the dining table, I heard the horn of a Ferrari. I turned towards the sound and saw a red Ferrari stopped in front of Jack's mansion. I looked there.
While I looked at the car's direction, a tall man with a muscular body and blond hair stepped out from the red Ferrari. He came towards Jack, who was standing near the gate. The man hugged Jack tightly, and they started a conversation. After some time, I went to the dining table, took three glasses of orange juice, and went inside the living room. After giving them the juice glasses, I excused myself, saying I was coming from the restroom, and went outside.
Amanda's POV:
We sat on the comfy couch, enjoying Jack's cozy party. The room was full of laughter and happy voices as everyone had fun. Lena leaned back, sipping her drink. "Jack throws great parties," she said with a smile, looking around at the decorations. "Yeah, everything looks awesome," I agreed, checking out the colorful lights and decorations. Jack came over, grinning. "You having fun, ladies?" he asked, looking excited. "Sure are!" I said, smiling back. "Your party rocks!" Lena added. Jack nodded happily and went back to mingle with the guests.
Jasmine's POV:
As the music played and the party continued, I thought about the red Ferrari parked outside. He seemed to be the life of the party, surrounded by giggling girls wherever he went. He chatted easily with everyone, especially the girls, who couldn't get enough of him. It was like he was used to all the attention and enjoyed it. I decided to ask Jack about him. After coming from the restroom, I saw Jack standing in the corner, looking into his phone. I leaned towards Jack. "Hey, Jack," I began. He looked at me. "Who's the guy with the Ferrari? I didn't see him before," I asked, looking at the boy surrounded by many girls.
