Sitting in the luxurious moving carriage, Qin Ming continued to lecture his students. Unlike before, the sound of someone gulping down wine was more prominent in the cramped space.
Qin Ming regretted everything. He should have never agreed to this. When they left the academy, teachers and students had gathered to see them off. The looks in their eyes still haunted him—gratitude, joy, and even sympathy.
Now, he understood why. He glanced toward Lu Yuan, sitting comfortably with Ye Lingling in one arm and Dugu Yan in the other, sipping wine without a care in the world. At least they were safe—for now.
"We're about to enter the Star Luo Empire. Our next stop will be…" Qin Ming tried to continue.

The first thing he did upon waking was drink, as usual. After downing a jar of wine, he felt the cold night air ease slightly.
"The two Shi brothers are so heavy, they even wore out the horses," Lu Yuan muttered as he stumbled to a hidden spot, ready to relieve himself. But just as he was about to, he froze.
Before him stood a girl in black, her figure lithe and graceful.
"Miss, your hiding skills are impressive. Were you spying on me?" Lu Yuan grinned.
The girl stepped out from the bushes, her eyes sharp, her body striking.
"Ha! Beautiful lady, would you like to have a drink with me?" Lu Yuan offered, stepping forward.
"I didn't see anything," the girl replied coldly, stepping back cautiously.
"Gulp, gulp, ha… Don't lie!" Lu Yuan took another swig, advancing on her.
But then he noticed something—her arm was bleeding.
"Injured? Who the hell hurt my pretty little lady?" Lu Yuan growled.
Just then, the sound of arrows slicing through the air alerted him. The girl darted behind a tree for cover, but Lu Yuan's reflexes kicked in. Despite his drunken state, he moved with lightning speed, deflecting the arrows with his sword.
"Little Sister, you're pretty good!" he praised, slurring his words.
The girl was startled. How could someone who couldn't even stand straight react so quickly?
Despite still drinking, Lu Yuan moved again. Sword Qi flashed through the forest, and the attackers hidden in the branches fell like raindrops.
"Gulp, gulp, gulp…"
"You bastards dare to bully a beautiful girl!" Lu Yuan shouted.
From the shadows, another girl appeared, her figure even more impressive than the first.
"Zhuqing, I didn't expect you to have help."
A few black-clad assassins followed behind her.
"Ah, another beautiful Miss! But you don't look like you came here to drink with me."
"Hmph! Today…" The girl's words trailed off as her eyes fell on the four terrifying spirit rings at Lu Yuan's feet. Her entire demeanor changed. Zhu Zhuyun nearly lost her composure.
Is he faking his spirit rings? she thought, trembling at the sight of the ominous power emanating from Lu Yuan's sword.
She quickly realized she had lost. Her team was no match for this monster.
"You… just wait!" she spat, before disappearing into the darkness with her group.
Zhu Zhuqing, the first girl, was left staring in disbelief. The sheer power and terrifying spirit rings left her cold expression hiding a flicker of shock.
"Kitty, have a drink. It'll help with the pain," Lu Yuan offered her a jar of wine.
Zhu Zhuqing hesitated for a moment before taking the jar, though she didn't drink. Instead, she poured the entire contents over the wound on her left shoulder.
As the danger passed, her tense body began to relax, but the pain overwhelmed her, and she collapsed.
Lu Yuan caught her effortlessly. "Another beautiful girl."
He grinned and muttered, "Hold on tight!"
