The nursing staff would bring the baby in soon to feed, and I didn’t want to wake her before then. Her long blonde hair fanned out over the pillow, giving her an ethereal look despite everything she had been through over the past twenty-four hours. Thank the goddess that wolves heal quickly.

I pressed a soft kiss to her forehead before slipping into the hallway.
