Kieran's face flushed with happiness and he propped himself on top of her, pushing his body close to her. "What did you call me just now, my sweet? Please repeat."

Irene was in the trance and she caressed his cheek lovingly. "Kieran."

"Please repeat, darling." Kieran kissed her palm, his heart bursting with joy. The progress was more than he had expected. 

"Kieran, love." Irene repeated, her lips arching up into a smile. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, my darling girl. I missed you too so fucking much. It hurts." He hugged her tight, pulling her closer to him. But he did not put his weight on her.

Irene rubbed his back, soothing him as well as himself as she smiled blissfully. "Please forgive me, Kieran. I put you in misery. I should not have..."

"Shh," Kieran rubbed his cheek against hers and shushed her. "Let us not speak about this painful matters, Irene. It was all in the past."
