Capítulo 66: Discussion

Silence engulfed them as they each thought about Jian and the letters he had left behind. Sighing Sarah then began to talk to them both however just before she could open her mouth MIng'er started to stir awake from her sleep. The three of them briefly looked at Ming'er and then went back to the awkward silence that had pervaded the room before.

"Why are you guys so quiet? Why aren't you eating?" Ming'er knew that something was up yet no one was telling her what was up. Childish curiosity gripped Ming'er as she was wondering what could have happened to have everyone so quiet and not touch their food as Sarah always eats whatever Huo makes considering they are tailor made for her liking.

"Ming'er..." Sarah spoke out lightly slightly hesitating whether or not to tell Ming'er that Jian had left as although Ming'er had spent enough time with Huo to bond she hadn't spent enough time with Jian to bond enough that she would care if he was gone.

"Our friend Jian has left so that he can become stronger and we may not see him again... for a long time." Sarah gently explained hoping that Ming'er would understand the reason why they were slightly down.

Tilting her head to the side in confusion, "Your friend Jian has left to become stronger? Why couldn't he become stronger here?". Ming'er was confused even more since she couldn't wrap her head around Jian's logic since she thought that he could get plenty stronger at the academy like everyone else.

"He is afraid of being left behind by me and the others as we progress faster than he can keep up." Sarah further explained while smiling on the inside at the child-like naivete as although she has faced threats against her life, she has always been guarded by someone else whether it be guards from her family, elders of the academy and even Sarah herself. Then again this is only from what Sarah knows from Ming'er and her attitude from the attack. If Ming'er had truly been through a situation of life and death she would not have frozen up or at least she would have been able to easily break herself from her frozen state.

Pondering on Sarah's explanation, Ming'er frowned and brought her head back to normal, "I still don't get it". Sarah gently smiled at her and then coaxed her by saying that she didn't need to understand at the moment.

Although beforehand, Huo and Tian Long were slightly sad, it was temporarily taken away by the scene presented before them.

Ming'er finished her breakfast quickly and headed in to the bathroom to get dressed and freshen up. Usually she would have Huo help with her getting ready as she liked to talk with Huo whilst doing so as she would still have to go to the classes she took.

With Ming'er occupied in the bathroom, Sarah began the discussion which was originally going to take place before she was interupted by Ming'er waking up.

"I know that you guys will be sad for a while but we have to respect the choice that he has made and hope that he will make it back to us one day." Sarah at first tried to portray what she was saying as if Jian leaving hadn't effected her in the slightest however by the end of it her chest got stuffy and her eyes began reddening when she thought of the fact that someone she had bonded with and gotten to know over the past few months had suddenly left and may never come back.

At first Huo was mad at the way Sarah was speaking since she thought it was unfair to Jian who thought that he would be missed however when she noticed a peculiarity in her tone she looked up and then also teared up.

Tian Long didn't get angry as he knew that Sarah was only trying to make it as un-emotional as possible as she didn't know if she would start to cry or not. He knew that Sarah would never want to cry in front of them as she liked to portray a strong front when in fact she is a very soft and gentle person on the inside. Of course, that is to those that she is very close with. Others, they are not so lucky. To others she is the queen of ice that will kill you if you slight her or those close to her in any way.

Noticing Sarah's eyes, Tian Long went to the beds and placed Da Xin down and was going to head to Sarah so he could embrace her and tell her that everything was going to be ok. However fate would never allow him such luck as just as he was prepared to walk to Sarah, Da Xin woke up and began to cry out for him so that she could fell his presence. Looking at Sarah and then Da Xin. Tian Long was torn between two worlds. Would he go to the one he loves and ensure her that everything was alright or would he go back to the baby who's parent's fate's are unknown all because of him and let her feel his presence so that she won't cry. Tian Long was torn between his own selfish desire and the duty to keep his promise and take care of Da Xin to the best of his ability.

Tian Long looked back and forth for another couple of seconds before he then picked Da Xin back up and sent an apologetic look towards Sarah. Sarah watched as Tian Long had chosen Da Xin over her, for reasons unknown to her, she felt slightly bitter and annoyed however she squashed those emotions immediatley before anything else could take root.

It was when Tian Long had just sat down where he was before that Ming'er came out of the bathroom fully dressed and ready to leave. Ming'er made her way over to the group and asked a question that baffled the group.

"What classes are you guys taking?"

The group was baffled as due to all that had happened they had forgotten the fact that they had classes that they need to attend to however... they didn't have classes to take.

"What do you mean? We weren't told anything about classes during the introduction to the academy." Sarah asked as she was befuddled at the moment as she had thought that the academy was one of those free study kind of places.

Confusion took hold of MIng'er's face yet again before it cleared up and got brighter, "That's right!, you wouldn't have been able to go to the class selection meeting because...of...the incident.". A slight look of guilt took over Ming'er's face briefly before it disappeared.

Now it was Sarah's turn to be confused as they hadn't been told anything about the class selction meeting either. Before she could ask speak out again, Huo interupted with another piece of information.

"Hmmm, I seem to remember hearing about that somewhere. Oh, yes, the day after Mistress was stabbed an elder came by to lead us to the class selection however as a 'servant' I wasn't allowed to go since I am technically not a student here." Huo explained as she hadn't put much importance on it at that time due to the fact that Sarah's situation was still very precarious.

"I guess you guys will need to meet the Headmaster so that he can assign you a timetable with the classes on it as luckily the classes aren't set in stone when they begin as some people go on to later find out that they are more suited for other weapons from the one they had been learning about or there are some powerful student's who learn side professions due to being bored and having nothing to do other than hunting beasts but that can only bring so much relief from boredom after all." Ming'er went on to explain to them that they needed to meet the headmaster now that they needed to join classes after they had begun. Ming'er then went on to explain that the classes don't have tests or anything of the sort, it was just the elders specialised in the area talking about their experience. The only classes that had anything similar to tests would be the side profession's such as medicine or blacksmithing.

Nodding due to having the situation being explained to them, they then thought that they needed to learn more about this academy since they hadn't had the chance to learn more due to Sarah's incident. Deciding on their next course of action they left to go to the headmaster's area with Ming'er leading as she sometimes visits the headmaster.
