This and the next chapter are my attempts to slow down. I don't mind writing them, I even find it enjoyable. I'm just afraid of boring all of you. So, please, let me know if you want more chapters like this or not.
I'll post the other chapter later today to get this out of the way... well, mine today, I don't know about yours.
------------------------------
"Congratulations, son. The wedding was beautiful. The food is delicious, and the brides are lovely." My mother came over to congratulate me as she dragged my father along.
She hugged me and the girls. I looked at both of them and couldn't help but smile, seeing my parents who had once had white hair now looking like 20-year-olds.
"Thank you, Mom." I said with a proud smile.
"It doesn't seem like I almost had to go after you and beat you to finally get married. You're almost 29, Tony..." She started reprimanding me out of nowhere.
"Okay! Okay! Woman, calm down. You know age doesn't matter much in this family anymore." I said with a bitter look and glanced at my wives for help.
They just laughed at me and pulled my mother into a conversation.
It seemed planned because it gave my father a chance to talk to me.
"Tony." He approached me and patted my shoulder.
He then made a bitter face as he looked at me.
"Tony, you don't know how much trouble a woman can be in a man's life. And now you have three. You'll have tough days ahead." My father said, shaking his head bitterly.
I was surprised by this and quickly assured him.
"Don't worry, Dad, the girls aren't like that. We may argue sometimes, but we're very happy together. No need for the bitter face." I said seriously.
"Huh? My face isn't like this because I'm worried. I'm just envious. Maria would never let me do this." He looked at me perplexed, patted my shoulder twice, and walked away with lonely shoulders.
Meanwhile, my eye was twitching in frustration.
Sighing and shaking my head, amused, I grabbed a champagne flute that passed by on a tray next to me and went to chat with other guests.
I passed by a table full of men dressed as wizards. There I saw a younger Wong, but with the same grumpy face. In his lap, there was an extremely fat yellow cat eating everything placed on the plate.
I looked amused at the scene and approached.
"You're Wong, right? Thanks for taking care of this hungry girl for us while we're on our honeymoon." I said with a smile, extending my hand and holding the kitten's mouth, which didn't even look at me, its owner when I arrived.
"Hmm, don't worry. The Sorcerer Supreme has done a lot for this world. It doesn't bother me to help since you'll be allowing a rare rest for the Sorcerer Supreme." Wong replied with his grumpy face, but you could see his inherent kindness along with the admiration he has for Yao.
"Still, I want to thank you." I smiled at him.
I then looked at the cat that was looking at me pitifully, "Goose, stop eating. You're a damn Flerken, how can you be fat? When I come back from vacation, you'll go on a diet." I spoke to the cat, who was now looking at me with pitiful eyes and its mouth closed in my hand.
"Tony, stop intimidating Goose. She's a good girl." Carol appeared by my side and took Goose in her arms.
"That's a pig, not a cat." I rolled my eyes.
"How can she be a pig? Look at her!" Carol kissed Goose's head and then extended her in front of my face with her arms.
It looked like the monkey lifting Simba in The Lion King. Well, I'd better not say what I thought, or Carol might get mad.
"Look how cute she is!" Carol repeated, shaking Goose in front of my face.
"Meow!" Goose meowed at me with pitiful eyes.
"Okay, she's cute." I admitted, but thought to myself, 'As cute as the fat Puss in Boots, but cute.'
Shaking my head, amused, I said goodbye to the masters.
"Okay, I think we should move on, Carol. We have other guests. And thank you, masters, for coming to our wedding." I took Carol's hand when she returned Goose, and thanked the masters for coming.
Carol waved to them with a smile, and we walked to another place.
"Hey, Carol! Tony!" We were walking when we were stopped by Talos.
"Talos, long time no see. How are you?" I asked with a smile.
"I'm well. I want to thank you and Carol once again. My people have been very happy on the planet you gave us, along with the protection of the Iron Legion." Talos, in his green form, spoke with a smile.
We had already informed them that they didn't need to camouflage themselves at our wedding.
"No need to thank us, Talos. We're happy to help." Carol replied with a serious face.
I nodded as well.
"Well... besides thanking you, I actually came to ask for help." Talos said, scratching his neck with embarrassment, giving us a bitter smile with his shark-like teeth.
"Our spies have informed us that the Kree Empire has discovered our new planet, and it won't be long before they send the Accusers to finish the job they started." Talos said with a bitter sigh.
Well, I already knew that, but I won't tell him that I have monitoring on all the planets reconstructed by the seed.
"How did this happen?" I asked, although I already knew.
"Ugh. One of my men responsible for foreign trade fell in love with an information trader. The woman fooled the idiot into believing they were in love, he believed it, revealed his disguise, and told her where we lived. A few hours later, he didn't see her anymore, and our information was up for sale in any information market." Talos explained helplessly. But he was certainly angry at the idiot.
"She was probably after information about who the big client was, buying and selling goods in bulk. While she was looking for copper, she found gold when she discovered the latest information about the Skrull people." Pepper, who had arrived, spoke her assumption.
"I thought that too." I nodded. I wasn't sure, these things happened outside of my planets, so I can only speculate.
"Well, what's done is done. But now we need help. I don't know if the Iron Legion alone can defend us against the entire Kree Empire." Talos said, his anxiety evident.
