My heart is beating loudly in my chest as I let Alexander take my hand and interlace our fingers.
"What if someone sees us?" I asked him as I looked around.
The vicinity was currently empty, but that could change at a moment's notice.
"I made sure no one sees us," he told me as we continued to walk around the property.
I nod, trusting that Alexander would never put me in harms way.
From a logical standpoint it would make perfect sense for him to protect me. I was his fiancée, he was supposed to take care of me.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked him, my voice coming out weaker than normal.
"We're just us here," he reminded me. "You don't need to play the strong intimidating heir to the Durfort family with me."
"I'm supposed to be the one telling you that," I grumbled. "You don't have to be the intimidating CEO that wants to push everyone away."
