"ROOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!!!!!!!!!" The man turned around to see that the WMC had jumped the wall. "Mister, what was that?" "They're called WMC (Worldly Mysterious Creatures), and it's what we fight. It's also what gave me this cut," he said as he breathed heavily.
The monster was catching up with them. The man wasn't looking good. "You have to run; I'll stall him," the man said as he quickly put Youta on the ground. "What? No, you're gonna get—" "I know, kid," the man said with a smile on his face. "It's all in the game," he said as he pulled out a beaming light. It shined in Youta's eyes as he squinted. "GO NOW!" the man shouted in agony. He couldn't bear to see the innocent child get hurt. He wanted the best for him.
Youta stood behind the man as his body ran cold and still. The WMC then realized Youta was there and swung his gigantic left hand towards Youta's small frame. "NOO!!" The hunter jumped in front of Youta, taking the hit. The heavy hand connecting with the man's right side sent him flying to the other side, and an old, rundown car broke his fall.
"Damn it!" The man cursed as he saw that Youta was running towards him, but what Youta didn't realize is that the WMC was planning to attack him at the same time. "You've gotta be kidding me," the man said in exhaustion. "Mister, are you ok" The man got up with lightning speed and ran towards Youta, picking him up from his waist and throwing him on his back as he ran to the nearest alley. The man found a hidden alley right behind the garage he was in.
"We're okay; it's okay," the man said to calm down Youta as he seemed to be having a panic attack. "No, we're gonn—" "We're gonna be alright, I team is on their way, and you have a bright future ahead of you. Forget all the things I said earlier... if you believe you can be a hunter, then you can," the man said, reassuring Youta of what he already knew.
Youta seemed to calm down a bit. "What's your rank?" The man asked. "It's a 7. I need a lot more time to rank up to be a hunter overall. I'm just 9 years old," Youta said disappointedly. "How about I fix that?" The man said, as curiosity filled Youta's mind. "How?" Youta asked. "I can give you my rank—" Before the man could finish, a sudden WMC grabbed the rooftop, pulling it off.
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAaaR!!!!!!!" The man covered Youta's head from the falling cement as he looked up at him, worried. "Are you okay?" The man asked as Youta nodded a response. He pulled Youta to another garage that was also near the last one that got destroyed.
"Listen to me carefully, I'm gonna transfer my rankings to you."
"What"
"And when I do, you're gonna run home, okay?" The man said, looking deeply into Youta's eyes.
"Why are you doing this? It doesn't make any sense," Youta said in confusion.
"We don't have much time. This might be the last of me... I want to help you, kid... you sparked a light within me... and I feel at peace, and if helping you is my last mission, then... so be it," the man said, with a wide smile on his face.
The footsteps of the WMC shook the floor. The man grabbed Youta's wrist as he said something frightening. "I transfer to my rank and my power to this boy," the man said as his blue eyes turned white. His hair glowed up and lifted into the sky. A strong gush of wind surrounded them as Youta's eyes widened in shock.
A stream of white lines came from the man's arms onto Youta. The moment it touched Youta's hand, his eyes turned white as well. The number on Youta's left hand turned into a thousand and seven.
The man dropped to the ground, having become a hunter, and helped change this messed-up world. Youta got up, "KREEEEN!!!" The ranking on his hand turned white.
When a person has a 3-number ranking, they are said to be chosen by God himself. There are only 1% of these people in the world; these people are known as Divinest. But some Divinest are special; only these special ones can reach true enlightenment. Unlike the rest of Divinest who have red rankings, these have white, and they are a quarter of the among the Divinest. It looks like Youta is a part of that quarter of persons.
Youta lifted up his left hand in the air, and Starlight Ryoku: Aldebaran Swords appeared. Five swords appeared behind him. He dropped his hand, and the swords stabbed the WMC, but the swords didn't kill it. "Why can't I kill it?" Youta said.
A tall man about 6 feet walked up. He had black hair and eyes, and he was wearing the hunter's formal uniform with a black coat that said Major General in gold. "Maybe it's because you didn't hit its heart." He holds out his hand and closes it, "Dark! Impact," the WMC burst.
The man looked at the ground and saw the man on the ground. "King, damn it, I was too late. Who are you?"
"I'm Yuki, and I'm a hunter," Yuki introduced himself, eyeing the king's ranking on Youta's left hand. "Oh, I see. So he gave you his ranking and power before he died. What's your name?"
"It's Youta," came the reply.
"Well then, Youta, how would you like to become a hunter when you grow up, kid?" Yuki asked with a grin.
"Really?" Youta's eyes widened in excitement.
"Yeah," Yuki confirmed, his expression encouraging.
"When you're 15, I will come back for you. How old are you now?" Yuki inquired.
"I'm 9," Youta answered.
"Only 6 more years left. You better learn how to use that new power of yours," Yuki advised, a sense of anticipation in his voice.
[6 years later]
Tep! Tep! Tep! Yuki approached Youta's house and knocked on the door. The door opened, revealing Youta's mom. "Oh, Mr. Yuki, you're here. Youta, Mr. Yuki is here," she called upstairs. "I'll be down soon," Youta replied hurriedly.
Excited, Youta rushed down the stairs, wearing a bag on his back and holding another in his right hand.
His mom hugged him tightly, kissing his forehead. "I'm going to miss you," she said, her voice tinged with both pride and sadness.
"You see, Mom, I told you I would become a hunter," Youta said confidently.
"Yes, you did," she replied with a warm smile.
Youta's dad also chimed in, offering his words of caution. "Hey, son, you be careful now."
"I will, Dad," Youta assured him.
Yuki then stepped forward, speaking with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, sir. I promise I'll take care of him like my little brother. Come on, Youta."
"Right, bye," Youta waved to his parents as they departed.
As they made their way towards the city wall's gate, the guards greeted them with respect. "Oh, Major General Yuki, sir, with all due respect, sir, this boy is a part of... you know."
Yuki grinned and explained, "Not to worry, he's my little brother."
"Your little brother, sir?" The guards were surprised.
"Yes, he was just here visiting his mom. We have different moms," Yuki clarified.
"I see, sir."
"Plus, Lieutenant General Saki wants to meet him and add him to our team," Yuki added.
"Say no more, sir! Open the gates!" one of the guards shouted.
As the gates swung open, Yuki and Youta entered the new city of Ishmael. Youta was awestruck by the bustling city and its towering buildings. "Wow," he exclaimed in amazement.
"Now, shall we grab something to eat before heading to the base?" Yuki suggested with a smile, ready to guide his eager little brother on this new adventure.
